Novawish's Fate [COMPLETED] OLD

Chapter Four

Novawish is now watching the Aquatail's kits, Otterkit, Mosskit, Lilykit and Mudkit, swimming in the lake. New-leaf have come to RiverClan and melt away the snow, and now prey was rich again. When she was a kit she was looking forward to have kits on her own, but now she knew all the responsibility she'll have as a mother. She has to raise them, look after them, and even bear the pain of giving birth to them.

Frecklepelt, on the other paw, didn't seem to mind all that. She was now leaning against Rainshade, both of them are looking at the kits with full pleasure. Novawish healed Rainshade just two days ago and they already getting close. Mossfall just came back from ShadowClan the day before and was very impress with her of what she had done.

"You did well Novawish." her former mentor had praised her. "I guess RiverClan will be in good paws when I go to StarClan."

Novawish's heart is still warmed at her mentor's words. She will be a great medicine cat. She don't need any toms or kits. She has everything right here, in RiverClan.

Novawish then saw the hunting patrol coming back with her father, Volesplash, leading it. She felt a flash a pride, he is one of RiverClan's best fishers! As a kit Blazetail always tells them that he's was strong and determined because he used to be a ShadowClan warrior so the Clan judge him sometimes.

Volesplash drop his prey on the fresh-kill pile along with Mistystream , Reedclaw and Fishpelt. His amber eyes lit up when he saw his daughter and started to race over to Novawish. When he gets near he butts her on the shoulder.

"How's my kit doing as a medicine cat?" Volesplash tease, "Not tiring yourself out I hope."

"I'm doing fine Volesplash!" she laughs, her father is so funny, "I'm not a apprentice anymore!"

Volesplash purrs and sat beside her. He look at the kits playing in the lake. "You know." he meow, "They remind me of you and Frecklepelt use to play in the lake when you are kits."

Novawish let out a sigh.

"What's wrong?" Volesplash asks with concern.

"I miss Grasskit." she mutters.

"So do I." there was sadness in his voice as she spoke of his dead daughter. "But, we have to move on." His gaze lands on Rainshade and Frecklepelt, and Novawish understands what Volesplash meant.

She turn to Volesplash. "I'll go hunt."

Novawish is now swimming up in the stream, carrying the fish in her jaws. It was a satisfying kill. When she made it to the surface her eyes meet with yellow eyes right close up to her face.

"AHH!!" she screams, swimming back a little.

"It's okay! It's me, Beastfur!"

Novawish peers at the cat and saw the long brown fur and the flat muzzle. It really was Beastfur! "What are you doing in RiverClan territory?"

"I thought I could take a look." he meows as he look around, "It not like they'll kill me."

Novawish look in the water and pull up at one of the stones near her. "Now look what you done!" she complains. "You made me lost my fish!"

"Don't worry champ!" Beastfur declares, "I'll fetch you a new one." Before she could say anything he jump and plop into the stream.

BEASTFUR!! Novawish starts to grew anxious, he's a ShadowClan warrior! He can't swim!

But after a few minutes the brown tom pop out of the water, with a fish more smaller then her's. His fur was dripping wet and his head fur was on his face.

"Novawish?" he muffles , with the fish in his mouth, "Where did you go?"

Novawish let out a amuse purr and brush his fur of his face with her white paw. "I'm right here." she giggles, "You're so...playful!"

Beastfur let out and purr and stalk out of the water on the stone beside her. "Yeah, I was playful, but I was never as playful as my brother was?"

"Your brother?" Novawish never heard who his brother is.

"Jaggedpelt." Beastfur's answer really knock the breath out of her.

"What!?" Novawish exclaims, "I seen elders more playful than that bad tempered badger!"

"Oh, it not his fault really." Beastfur defends his brother, "It just that our father had left us to join WindClan just to be with his other mate, and our sister was killed by a falling tree branch two moons after we became apprentices. Then soon enough Blackthunder, our mother, have completely ignore us out of grief for losing her kit, and founded out that her mate was cheating on her. I'm the only one that Jaggedpelt haves as a kin now."

Why...that's awful! Novawish then felt pure sympathy flood through her. Jaggedpelt had almost lost everything. He lost his father, sister and ignore by her mother. How will I feel if Blazetail ignores me and lost Volesplash? I won't feel good at all....

"Well, I have to go," Beastfur meows, "Heh, Pinestar might be wondering where I am right now. See you later Novawish!" he then leap at the other stones to the other side of the stream an towards his territory.

Novawish mutters a goodbye, as her thoughts wonders to somewhere else.
