Volume 2 - Chapter 8 - Welcome to Beacon

Three weeks after the situation with Roman, classes started back up. In our free time, Team RWBY, JNPR and I were in the library. JNPR had their own table. Ren was reading, Nora was sleeping, Pyrrha snatched the comic out of Jaunes hand and moved a proper book over to him as she began to read it.

And RWBY were playing a card/board game. Some Remnant game where all the Kingdoms were conspiring against each other and the last one standing was the winner. I was on their table, sitting next to Blake reading a book about an adventurer in a fantasy world who used lightning-based powers and had to fight these powerful enemies called Demon King Generals. It's actually quite an interesting book!

Ruby murmured to herself.

Ruby: "Hmmm... Alright..."

She was observing her cards, trying to carefully think of a tactic. With an idea in mind, she speaks up, pointing to her sister.

Ruby: "Yang Xiao Long, prepare your kingdom for battle!"

Yang clenched her fist.

Yang: "Bring it on!"

Ruby: "I deploy, the Atlesian Air Fleet!"

Yang gasps.

Ruby: "Looks like I get to fly right over your Ursai and attack your walls directly!"

She begun to imitate the sound of an airplane engine.

Yang: "You fiend!"

Ruby: "And since Atlas is apart of Mantle, my repair time only lasts one turn."

Yang: "Hehehe...Pretty sneaky sis, but you've just activated my trap card!"

Yang turns her card, revealing the Giant Nevermore card.

Ruby: "Whaaaaaaa!"

Yang: "Giant Nevermore! If I roll a seven or higher, Fatal Feathers will slice your fleet in two!"

Ruby: "But, if you roll a six or lower, the Nevermore will turn on your own forces!"

Yang: "That's just a chance I'm willing to take."

Yang picks up the dice and rolls it. She scores above seven.

Yang: "Hah!"

Ruby: "Nooooooo, my fearless soldiers!"

Yang: "Eh, most of them were probably androids."

Ruby: "Goodbye my friends...You will be avenged...!"

Yang: "Not until I draw my rewards, which are doubled this round, thanks to the Mistral trade route!"

Ruby: "Bah!"

Yang: "Oh! And what's this? The Smugglers of Wind Path?!"

Ruby: "Bah! Bah, I say!"

Yang: "Looks like I'm taking two cards from your hand!"

Ruby: "Have you no heart?!"

Ruby rested her head on the table.

Ruby: "Noooo..."

Yang: "Well Weiss, it's your turn!"

Weiss: "I have...absolutely no idea what's going on."

Yang: "Look, it's easy! You're playing as Vacuo which means all Vacuo-based cards come with a bonus!"

Weiss: "That sounds dumb."

Yang: "See...You've got Sandstorm, Dessert Scavenge—Oh! Oh! Resourceful Raider! See now you can take Ruby's discarded air fleet—"
