Chapter 1 A New Trainer

"Brother! Brother! Your friends are waiting!!" My sister shook me.

My pet Rockruff we had for the house pounced onto my bed and barked at me.

I chuckled and got out of bed. "Ayumu!" Mom ruffled my hair.

Rockruff knew by now that I was leaving. He grabbed onto my pant leg and growled.

I bent down and patted him. "Why dont you take him with you? Itll be sad to see a pokemon you've had for your hole life to be left like this." Mom suggested.

"Hes level 1, Itll be fun to train him, I'll take him," I picked up Rockruff.

"RUFF RUFF!!!" He barked in excitement. I smiled. "So where do I go?"

"To route 1, you'll see your dad and he'll give you a gift," Mom said.

I put rockruff down and patted my leg to tell him to come. He followed happily next to me as I headed to route one, backpack on my back, hat on my head.

Each time rockruff toke a step he'd make a small happy "Arf!" Sound.

I caught up to my friend and we followed each other down to the route.

"Oh you brought Rockruff?" Asami smiled.

Rockruff barked at her. "Rockruff!!" Asami giggled.

"Anyways, I cant wait to see what your dad brought, odd he told me to come to,"

"He knows we've known each other for a while,"

"ARF!"

"Ok, I known rockruff more."

"Arf."

Asami nudged my shoulder, pretending to as if push me.

Rockruff gave a loud bark, getting our attention. "Oh! Dad!!"

I rushed over with Asami and Rockruff.

"I see you brought rockruff, but I wanted to give you both pokemon. Who wants to choose first."

"I'll let Asami choose, I have a pokemon already so its fair," I suggested.

"Thanks, Ayumu," my dad brought out many pokemon.

"Asami, choose any, there all the same level,"

Asami was having trouble.

"Theres so many!!" (Every starter pokemon is there)

"I have patience," she ended with piplup. When I looked at rockruff, he was already playing with Charmander.

I patted rockruff. "Want to bring him with?" Rockruff barked a hole bunch in excitement.

"Alright, I choose him,"

"CHAR!!" He chanted in excitment.

"I see you let your pokemon choose," dad said.

"I challenge you!" Asami pointed at me.

"Rockruff, stay back,"

I looked at dad "dont all pokemon gain exp if won?"
"Yep!"

I looked at Asami in the eyes and pointed forward and charmander pounded in battle.

"Your opponent has a water type, both your fire and rock type are weak against it."

I looked at Charmander. He was focused on my battle.

"GIVE IT YOUR BEST CHARMANDER!" I shouted loudly and he, without directions, scratched piplup.

"PIPLUP!!" Piplup whined.

Charmander dodged piplups water attack and I quickly picked up rockruff out the way.

"Your pokemon has fighting potential, he'll be a harder one to take care of."

"SCRATCH!" I shouted and he took another shot at piplup.

Piplup whined and tried to use water attack again but missed.

"Usually with first battle pokemon dont have a huge accuracy, but charmander seems determined."

I gave another command and piplup gave up.

Rockruff gave a bark of excitement.

Suddenly piplup gave a large attack and flow of water.

Charmander flinched and flew back by the huge impact.

"Char......." Charmander was quickly weak.

Rockruff burst out of my arms and got in battle.

"ROCKRUFF, YOU ARENT READY!" Rockruff pounced on piplup and bit them and piplup fainted. 

"HEY THAT WASNT FAIR!"

Asami got fussy.

"I didnt know rockruff was going too--"

The squirtle gave a burst of water at rockruff.

Rockruff was slammed back.

"SQUIRTLE!!" Dad scolded

"Squirt.. squirt.."

Rockruff stood and I rushed over and I returned charmander.

I picked up Rockruff.

"Here this is a perfect time to show you the pokemon center."

Dad returned the rest of the pokemon.

But one pokemon escaped the ball and got Ayumus dads backpack.
