Samuel's P.O.V
The sound of my phone filled the silence. Moving my hand I grabbed my phonr from my pocket to see a message from my father. Slowly I read the message and my face paled.
"What's wrong?" Flynn asked as he saw my face.
"Nothing I just gotta go," I said putting a hand to my chest as my heart started to race with fear.
"Will everything be okay?" Flynn asked seeing my actions and his hazel eyes glazed over with worry.
"I just gotta go," I said as I stood up and helped him up.
"Alright be careful and remember call us if anything happens," Flynn said as he watched me turn, and start walking away.
Without replying I quickly walk down the street not wanting to bother any one to drive me home. With each step it felt more and more like death himself was waiting for me at my house.
Victor's P.O.V
I walked with Nicki to a different room so that we could talk. She was older then me by 3 years making her twenty while the rest of us were just teenager.
"So what did you want to talk about?" She asked as she sat in an old recliner.
"Did anything happen while I was gone?" I asked my ocean blue eyes looking at her muddy brown ones with worry. "I know that everyone else won't tell me if anything bad happened so I came to you."
"You're worried abour Samuel and your brothers I assume?" Nicki asks with a knowing smile.
"Is it that obvious?" I asked with a small chuckle.
"Yea but don't worry your brothers are perfectly fine," she said. "In fact they even help with some of the runs and never miss a meal."
"That's good to hear I worried about that since mom and dad are never home to feed them," I said with a small sigh of relief. "And what about Samuel?"
Nicki looked away like she was debating on telling me something. Worry started to fill me more and more as I waited for her to say something. I couldn't help the feeling that something bad happened while I was away. After what had felt like hours, which was probably only a minute or two, Nicki finally looked back up at me.
"He seems to be ok but there is some stuff going on I believe," Nicki said and my worry only grew. "He's a big boy Victor, so he'll be fine."
"I know but he's my best friend and like a little brother to me. I'm worried that he's hiding something from me," I said running a hand through my hair.
"He wouldn't hide anything from you plus don't you two have that bro code thing?" She asks as she watched me. "You know, not to keep things from eachother?"
"Yeah, but he barely talked to me while I was gone and when he did it was short and emotionless replies," I said as I took a seat in one of the chairs in the room.
"He was probably just busy you know how he is. His mom probably needed help with the house and his dad came back a few weeks after you left," Nicki said and I felt all blood drain from my face. "He's probably has been hanging out with him."
"His dad's back?" I asked slowly trying to keep my emotions in check. "How could Samuel not tell?"
"You know he doesn't like bothering you," Nicki replied.
"I gotta go," I said standing up from my chair and leaving the room with out a glance back.
I walked into the living area and saw Flynn walking in from outside. He look like he was thinking about something. I walk over to him and his hazel green eyes flickered up at my own blue one before he quickly looked away.
"Something wrong?" I asked as he messed with his bracelet some thing he only did when he was nervous or scared.
"I'm just worried about something," he answered as he looked up at me.
I was about to ask what he was worried about before our youngest brother Holt walked over with Whitlen. They seemed to be talking about something and were really excited.
"Hey Victor, I'm gonna go over to Whitlens house tonight," Holt said as he looked up at me.
"Holt, I just got back and you don't wanna come home and spend time with me?" I asked putting a hand to my chest acting fake hurt.
"Not really," he replied with out an ounce of guilt. "And Flynn's coming too."
I looked over at Flynn to see him smiling innocently.
"Don't worry Nicki will be taking us to my house," Whitlen said as he ran a hand through his chestnut brown hair.
"Alright just be careful," I said as thr smiled brightly and ran off. "Wait have y'all seen Samuel!"
"Yeah! He went home!!" Flynn yelled back.
"Guess I can head over to Samuel's house and make sure he's okay," I said to myself and turned to walked off.
Walking out of the warehouse I saw Kenneth and Levi with their cousin Abel Wooten. They seemed to be talking as Abel ran a hand through his short brown hair that had light streaks running through it.
Walking to my Jeep and getting in on the driver side, I saw Samuel's bag in the passenger seat and I smiled.
"Now I have a reason to show up," I mumbled as I drove off.
Drivinh down the road then onto some back roads. It seemed like everything was the same. Driving down the familiar dirt road I started to get an uneasy feeling. Like some things wrong. Pulling into the drive way I saw that Jean's car was missing meaning she wasn't home.
I parked in Jean's spot and got out with Samuel's bag. Looking around I saw that the yard was a mess like no one had been outside to clean it.
"OCD please don't kick in," I mumbled as I stepped over something.
I walked up to the old rusty trailer that Samuel calls home. I walked on to the old wooden porch and went to open the door when I heard some yelling. It sounded like an older man yelling at a woman and some kid trying to defend her.
Instead of opening the door and walking in like I normally would I decided to knock. Bringing my hand up I knocked loudly twice and heard the yelling stop. There was the sound of some shuffling then heavy footsteps before the door opened.
A tall man stood in the door way. He was a heavier set guy that stood at about 6'4 and his hair was brown turning gray. He had a short beard and dark gray eyes that looked ready to kill.
"Who are you?" He asked his dark eyes narrowing at me.
"I'm Victor Lipham sir," I said narrowing my eyes. "Who are you?"
"Why are you here?" He asked glancing behind him.
"To give Samuel something," I said trying to look past him. "Is he here?"
"He'll be out in a second," the guy said and he shut the door.
I heard hushed whispers and I put my ear to the door to try and hear what was being said. I heard some shuffling and stepped back as I watched the door. The door slowly opened to a sight I never want to see again.
"S-Samuel?" I ask with wide eyes
