Just some pictures of the sky I took from the transkei!
The view there was absolutely stunning!
We had our own boat, but if we wanted to get across we would either Kayak or go in that blue boat rowed by the ferryman: Patrick.
In the first week, we were joined by 3 families:
Jennifer Stevenson, Brad Stevenson, and their two kids; Coleen Root, Graham Root; and finally Pier Root and Sharon Root.Almost every day we went fishing, and by we I mean everyone else but me because I hate fishing 😂
On the first day there though, I did go "fishing"
Basically I sat in the boat for 2 hours, reading, as I watched 2 people fish. In the end, I got horribly sunburnt. Though my friend Cian got the worst of it: she had a full sunburn because she decided to "Not wear sunblock so I can tan, Casey"We didn't catch many fish. We caught mostly crabs. Every morning one of the workers there, Gandaganda, would hop on a kayak and catch prawns.
I don't eat fish, prawns, or crayfish, but I heard they were delicious.
We'd go on a 20 minute hike to a small beach over the hill called "Shelly beach" where we stayed. There we'd find so many shells and shellfish.
We made our own little Christmas tree out of drift wood from the beach, and we decorated it with shells and twigs.
That's Cian in her fishing shirt because she was still sunburnt after 2 weeks.
In the second week we were joined by 2 families:
Sue, Martin, and their friend Lizl; and then Belinda, Greg, their 2 sons Ben and Matthew, and their cousin Brayden.Sue had a son named Casey! He did ballet! And I'm hoping to meet him sometime and start dance lessons.
On the last day, Cian's mother and I got up early to walk to Shelly beach at 5:I 40. There weren't many shells but it was still refreshing to walk.
We left at 9:30 and drove for 6 hours (which was weird because we drove 9 hours to get there)But yeah, that was my 2 weeks vacation. ✌️😋
