Brad's POV

They didn't let me out on bail until morning. First thing I do is go straight to the hospital. I ask the woman at the front desk if I can see Em. She informs me that she already checked out. I take out my phone and try to call her. It goes straight to voicemail. Hanging up, and swearing under my breath I race to Em's house.  I bang on the door, but there's no answer. Where could she be? Getting my phone out I call the one person I thought I would never have to speak to again.

"Brad?"

"Stacey, where's Rick?" I am so pissed! I need to find Em.

"I don't know where he is."Her voice sounded upset.

"Do you know what happened to Em last night?"

"All I know is... After Em found Rick and I together he ended things with me, and chased after her."

I don't even feel sorry for her, but I can't let my anger towards her get in the way of finding Em. "Em overdosed on sleeping pills last night. I took her to the hospital, and then got taken to Jail for punching Rick. I went to the hospital this morning, but she was gone. I then went to her house, and she wasn't there either."

"I can't believe this! This doesn't make sense. Em told Rick they were through. She wouldn't be with him."

This is true! There's no way she would allow Rick back into her life after what he did. " I'm going to head back to the hospital, and see if I can't figure something out. If you hear from Em, or Rick please let me know."

"I will! I feel terrible! This is all my fault!"

She sounds like a mess. "Don't be so hard on yourself. This is more Rick's fault than yours. Right now you, and I need to work together to find Em."

"Okay! I will let you know if I find anything."

"Thank you, and I will do the same for you." Ending the phone call I drive back to the hospital. I walk up to the front desk, and beg them to tell me if Em was okay. Since I'm not family my pleas are getting me nowhere.  "I brought her in... I need to know she's okay." Then a slim blonde walks up to me.

"Hi, my name is Angie. I couldn't help but overhear. You're the one that brought Emily Winters in last night right?"

I nod my head. "Please, I didn't hear back from her. I want to know if she's okay."

"Mrs. Winters is fine. She got a little amnesia, but other then that she left here with a full recovery."

Damn it!!! Amnesia? I wonder how much she doesn't remember. "Did she leave with someone?"

"Yes! She left with her husband."

I feel the blood drain from my face. That bastard! "Okay, thank you so much. I'm glad she is doing better." I place a fake smile on my face, and walk out. Rick could have taken her anywhere. I send a quick text to Stacey. There isn't much I can do except wait for Em's return. Will she ever return? Defeat washes over me.

Back at my house I can still sense her. It wasn't that long ago that she was here. I walk up to the bathroom, and step inside. Grabbing her wine glass I observe the empty glass. There was nothing left except for small specks of powder at the bottom of the glass. Fear, and anger overcome me. I want to slam the glass down and let it shatter into a thousand pieces, but I hold back.  If my suspicions are correct those specks of dust would be powder from the sleeping pills. Em would have never taken the time to crush sleeping pills into her drink. Someone drugged her. Accusations of Rick flash through my mind. Stacey had said that he had chased after Em. Had he been here last night? Or, had Stacey out of jealousy come here to end Em's life. The second one didn't seem likely. There's no way my wife would do something like that. No, my bet's on Rick.
