My back pressed against the wall. My mind was one swirling mess of hormones and happiness. That was the first time I had kissed a guy. Especially a cute one like Connor. I felt so alive. I sang along to Separate Ways by Journey. Every word was sang with elegance. My mind was a blur. Connor was something else. I felt so alive.

Month by Month Connor and I kept seeing each other after school by Butler Lake. When summer came, we would picnic and spend nights out there. One night, while we were camping, we went a bit farther in our relationship. It was the last night of summer. It was a Friday.

“What made you want to take up another science class?” I asked Connor as we sat and ate pieces of cut up cheese that he had brought from his house. As far as our parents knew, we were spending nights out here alone. They didn’t know we were sneaking out to see each other.

“I think I’m going to apply to be one of those sports physics people. You know? The one’s that calculate where the ball is going to go and everything. Yeah, I think that’s what I want to be.” he said, staring into my eyes. He had always said he loved their green color. He also like my hair. He liked the way it was waved up. Who would’ve thought that a boy like him would be with a boy like me?

“Yeah, I understand.” I answered.

We continued staring at each other. After a minute Connor asked me what I wanted to be. I told him I didn’t know what I wanted to be. I just wanted to be something. I wanted to do something that made me happy.

“I can do something that’ll make you happy.” Connor teased.

“Really? By all means, go for it?”

He leaned over and kissed me. I melted into his touch. His tongue slipped into my mouth. My hand wrapped around his back. I felt him pull me closer, tighter. I’ve never wanted to be away from him. I wanted to be with him forever. I felt his hand go under my shirt. He was beginning to pull it off.

“Is it okay?” Connor asked with his lips on mine.

I smiled. “Yes.”

Connor pulled off my shirt and kissed my chest. Each kiss sent a shock through my entire body. What was this? This drug he was giving me through the touch of his lips? Whatever it was, I was addicted.

“I think I love you Adrian.” His breath hit my navel as he spoke.

He’s proposing love? Who am I? Nobody would’ve even wanted to touch me a year ago and now a cute boy is proposing love while kissing my stomach? Insane, but I love him back.

“I love you too. I do.” I answered.

I pulled his head up to mine and deeply kissed him.
