What do you think perfect means? No flaws? No visible flaws?

Do you think someone can be perfect?

Apparently perfect means no flaws, none that are visible anyway. You have to be exactly like how society wants you to be. There is no room for negotiation when it comes to what people believe you should be.

My parents are some of these people. "You must wear this. You can't do that. No. Yes. More makeup. Smile." So many rules and so many ways to mess up.

It feels like being on the edge of a cliff and everyone is just watching, waiting for you to fall....to fail.

What's wrong with wanting to wear sweatpants and binge watch my favorite shows? Apparently everything is wrong with that. It would be unacceptable to relax for a day.

I must always smile, be polite, keep my posture straight, have makeup done perfectly, wear beautiful gowns. No room for screwing up because if I do I will be attacked from every direction.

Hold up appearances and when no one is watching my facade can break, but they are always watching. So my facade must stay up. I can't let it slip.

I must always be a picture of Perfection.
