LALISA
With the summer break coming to an end, Lisa decided to prepare for the cheerleading tryouts in hopes of being one of the selected. Walking outside onto her porch, she admired the stars and the crescent shaped moon as they glistened delicately in the sky. While enjoying the scenery, her best friend dangled from the roof above scaring both Lisa and, surprisingly, the pretty girl hanging from her house as she was equipped with her metal baseball bat.
"Ahhh!"
"AhhhHHhhhh!"
"What the hell are you doing, Jisoo?"
"Why did you scream!?"
"Because you appeared out of nowhere!"
"And?"
"From MY roof!"
"Oh yeah," Jisoo chuckles after finally hopping down from the house, taking Lisa's hand in hers.
"I just heard from my mom that they've found a dead body. So, we should go investigate"
"Jisoo, of course she'd find a dead body, she's the sheriff. Plus, dead bodies appear all the time, that's normal," rolling her eyes, as she grabbed her hood and pulled it over her short grey locks that just flowed below her collarbones. Jisoo sighed whilst quickly turning the flashlight on,
"It's not just some random body. They said that they only found half of it."
"Okay?.."
"Jesus Lisa, i'm trying to say that we should go look for the other half."
"But i - we still need to practice our cheer-leading if we want to get in." Lisa pointed at Jisoo and herself.
"Oh Lisa, loosen up. We've been practicing all summer, lets atleast have some fun you know? And, they would be a fool to not pick you. You're the best at cheer, and probably better than the girls on the team," she said whilst giving a knowing smirk, making Lisa chuckle and roll her eyes.
Jisoo dragged Lisa towards her iconic matte pink jeep that she had gotten for her 16th birthday last month. It had chunky black wheels with the plate sign reading '1PJS095'. It was her most prized possession and she declared that she would always treasure it, never leaving her 'baby' behind. You see, Jisoo was an unusual person, she was extremely smart, none athletic worrisome person anyone would meet. The complete opposite from Lisa, a girl who strives to protect her loved ones under no circumstances.
As they both buckled their seat-belts, Jisoo started the engine, heading off to the forest where the body was found. That night the sky wept for one of its children, rain slapping the mud with anger. Lisa stepped out the car along with Jisoo and walked towards the wooden fence with the name 'Blackrock Woods' engraved into a sign next to it. Entering the woods, she gripped onto her shoulders trying to retain her heat since the rain wasn't helping with the coldness and followed her best friend deeper into the woods, ignoring the feeling of being watched as she checked that no one was tailing them.
"Hey, i don't think we should be here, it's already 10:00PM,"
"Oh, come on Lisa, we're already here, look,"
Lisa looked at where Jisoo was pointing, and there she saw the remains of a body - an arm. Just, a decomposing, blue arm.
"Well won't you look at that, see, i told you,"
"What are we gonna do with it then? Leave it here"
"Obviously, we can't tamper with evidence, oh my-"
"What, wh-"
Lights of another flashlight could be seen as Jisoo dragged Lisa to hide behind a tree, scared that it was the killer tying to hide the rest of the corpse.
"Ma'am, I think there's someone in the area,"
"Really, wait," "If there's anyone here that we don't know of, please step out!"
"Jisoo, i think we should just show ourselves," Lisa whispered as she tugged onto the girls sleeve.
"Shhh, it's my mom, I'll tell her that it's just me so you go and run back home, okay? We don't want our very own cheerleader being caught up in this, do we now," Jisoo whispered, handing Lisa the flashlight and not forgetting to tell her to always wear her bracelet. It's important to both of them. Very.
"Okay, thanks babe. I'll text you when i get home,"
"Be safe."
She nodded as she ran away from the group of cops, looking back she saw Jisoo smiling cheekily towards her mother and gave her a wink. With this, Lisa went down the hill but tripped on a tree root that was growing out of the soil and fell towards the bottom, hitting her stomach on her way.
Silence.
That was until a herd of deer leapt over her continuously as the wind grew stronger, leaves scattering in all different places, her heavy breathing adding to the sound of her heart beat. In a hurry, Lisa reached out to her chest, an attempt to calm her down and checking if the band was still on her, but that didn't work when a howl was heard, alarming her to stand up and get the hell out of there. That was when the feeling came back, that there was another person in the woods other than her. The sound of moving made her panic being that the auditory became more harsher as it came towards her, making Lisa run in the direction of the exit. During that time, she felt an excruciating pain on her right side and the throbbing came rushing throughout her body. Unknowingly, her bracelet slipped off her wrist given that she was sprinting like her life depended on it, swinging her arms to add more momentum to her speed and as the moon shone down on her, Lisa caught a glimpse of what was causing her the suffering from her side.
It was a bite mark. A big one and she had no idea how that came to her.
Scared out of her wits, Lisa began to run again. Terrified that whoever - or whatever was out there, would come back and get her.
