Catana sat on the bean bag next to the block tv. "Soooooo...what should we do now?" Her friends sat on her bed.

"I don't know, we can play truth or dare?" Kennedy suggested. She only recieved sighs and eyerolls.

"Bruh, truth or dare is lame. We haven't done anything to make truth or dare fun. We're all virgins, don't have no balls, and can still get our asses beat." Sydney did have a point. The most couragoues thing the girls had done was dare Taylor to kiss her mama on the lips.

Kennedy smiled at the mere thought of her idea. She could just see them scream and run to go and get comfort from Catana's mom. She could also have blackmail ammo and get to tease them for acting like little kids. "We," she paused until she had their attention, "We should tell scary stories!"

"wE ShOUld TeLl SCaWy sToriEz Uwuuuuuu" Sydney mocked Kennedy for her idea, even though she had nothing better to suggest.

"Ugh, you're just too scared to admit that you're scared of ghost stories."

That's what finally set Sydney off. She stood up and laid her hand on her chest while the other was on her hip. "Now I'm not scared of shit. The only thing I'm scared off is waking up lookin' like your ugly rejected character ass." Kennedy dramatically gasped. Catana just laughed.

Kennedy turned her head quick. "I know you're not laughing. I'll roast you AND you're knock off shoes."

"You can't even roast! You be in the mirror practicing comebacks and shit." Referencing how her and Sydney stole Kennedy's computer as a joke. Looked on her browser history and discovered she searched up how to make good comebacks. Kennedy was left red in the face.

Catana caught her breath after a few seconds. "But like yeah, telling scary stories wouldn't be a bad idea."

Sydney sat up ,"I mean but it seems so....cringy...what is this one of those old teen movies?"

"But we have nothing better to do." Kennedy whined. Ignoring they were supposed to be asleep three hours ago, due to school being the next day.

"Alright fine we'll tell scary strories." Sydney agreed.

"And I go first" Kennedy demanded.

Sydney mumbled under her breath, "aNd I gO FirSt..."

"Shut up!"

"Before you get smacked up!" Catana chimed trying to be funny.

"Oh I'll show-"

Kennedy cut Sydney off, "Can I please start? Catana can you shut off the lights and get your flash light?" Catana didn't respond, she just got up to do what was asked of her.

The three girls sat on Catana's bed with the only light source being the flashlight. Their version of scary stories were far from being anything actually scary. They gave up trying to be creative and instead told urban legends, and any other creepy thing they had heard or read about. Making jokes and silly scenerios about running into the fabled monsters. Like imagining a person just minding their own buissness. Handling their private buissness on the toilet, and some dude is asking do you want blue paper or red paper. "Bruh I need toilet paper!" Sydney yelled-Catana and Kennedy laughed. Their conversation changed to the topic of what they just learned in English last week.

Catana remembered the story better than her friends. "You know that Cecil girl Ms.Goetz  said got kidnapped? Like back during that time when people couldn't go out at night."

Kennedy responded, "Yeah."

"I remeber she had a weird last name. Phantonhive. It reminds me of that anime character with the hot butler." Sydney said after nodding her head in acknoledgemnt.

Kennedy held her chest, sounding like she was on the very verge of tears, "My cinnamon roll slut boy didn't deserve the way they killed him off in season two..."

Catana waited till they were done reminiscing about the show. "Do you think she really got kidnapped by those shadows and dragged into Moon Land?" the topic of Moon Land being real was not new to discuss in their friend group.

Sydney interrupted her, "So like. I really need to get this off my chest. But- Moon Land? What kinda name is that. We learned about Lady Sun and Sir Moon in English class. Here you have this cool ass name for Lady Sun's world. Then you just got Moon Land. Like, I don't like the name, he was lazy with coming up with his name. Not only that but it doesn't even sound threatning. It sounds like that shit my little brother likes to watch. And to answer your question I think not. I believe she was tired of her mama and ditched town. She probably just needed some space and knew no one was going to get at her ass outside. I would do that. I have done that!"

" ...That's not something to be proud of..." Kennedy trailed off.

"...but do you I guess...but get kidnapped and when we find you. You're ass is grass." Catana warned her.

Kennedy now stated her personnal opinion, "I like the name Moon Land. It's simple and straight to the point. I believe that she could have been kidnapped. I mean you never know."

Catana nodded happy that Kennedy thought like she did. "Yeah I mean if it wasn't by shadows it could have been some creep."

"I wonder how high the person who created that story was. I just don't like the story." Sydney explained. She really did not like the folktale. Even though they only read Janice Stanford's version of it. The most simplified version. The little blue haired girl was not going to let the rest of the group forget how she hated the story.

Kennedy rolled her eyes and flipped back her light brown hair. "Well..sweetie that's a personal issue. But really imagining being pulled into that creepy place. I heard if someone kidnapped and took you to Moon Land. They stole you're energy or life essence. Because people who live in the Middle-world like us, were really special. Oh and don't forget that the people in Moon Land were a bunch of creeps!"

"Like let's say. Cecil did get kidnapped by supernatural beings. Do you think she escaped." Catana thought aloud.

Sydney scoffed, "Of course she didn't! They probably disected her. Too bad. She should have been smarter."

"There you go victim blaming again!" Kennedy pointed her pointer finger accusingly at the other girl.

"It's not victim blaming. It's being honest. She knew not to go out. But she did and said f you to her mama." Sydney pushed away Kennedy's pale finger.

"I see where both you guys are coming from. But listen ,I really don't want to deal with you two right now. It's 12 am, I'm getting tired. I can't play little Ms. Doctor Phil. So before you two start something let's end it here and go to bed." Catana ended their arguemnt before it was even gonna start. Sometimes she felt like she had to play mom of the group.

"Fine." Sydney reluctantly agreed but did stick up her middle finger towards Kennedy.

Catana got up to turn on her bedroom light. Illuminating it's pink walls. "Aye, imma go tie up my hair. If ya'll want anything from the kitchen say it now. I'm being nice." She voluntered since the bathroom she was going to was right next to the kitchen. Kennedy unsurprisingly asked if she could bring her some leftover pizza. Reminding her not to heat it up since she enjoyed cold pizza. Sydney just asked for one of those snack cakes they had in the cabinet. Catana left, leaving the brunette and blue haired girl alone. Sydney put on her panda onsie's hoodie and rolled over to grab the remote. Kennedy got comfortable under the covers.
The kitchen was eeri looking at night. Creepy in the kind of way some murderer was about to pop out. Catana turned on the light and got what her friends asked her. Her hair braided into cornrows so it wouldn't be patted down in the morning. She forgot she had her headscarf in her bedroom. A fat man's shadow walked along the kitchen's wall. The shadow turned to look at Catana. The girl had her back turned to him. He turned back forward, then, walked down the wall of the hallway. Just as he came with no trace..he left with no trace.
