Cody left the room and left the scared angle alone in that thorny cell. The sound of his family fighting again filled the kitchen, yet for the oddest reason Cody could only here the wincing and cries from the teen angle in the other room.
Dinner went as usual, the family fighting over anything and everything, yet Cody stayed silent, he was the only one who didn't yell and scream when it came to literally anything. He never really acted like a, what was called a 'true demon'.
"Right! All of you announces get out of my kitchen!" His mother yelled, making everyone leave to do whatever. Cody went back to the lounge room to see how the angle was doing, but was sadly stopped by his father. "Right, now, Cody. I've noticed your lack of Demonisom, so here's the deal. I won't say anything to your mother or the council of you 'look after' my new slave while the rest of us are gone tomorrow. We'll be gone for about three days, so I better see you've broken him well. We clear?" Cody's father was never like this, but Cody wasn't complaining.
"Fine with me. I'll see you when you get back since I have a feeling you'll be leaving now. Am I right?" Cody scoffed.
His dad simply nodded and walked off, probably to pack his stuff. Cody rolled his eyes and continued into their lounge room. The large red couch was towards the back wall while the TV was parolel to it. The cage housing the angle was next to the couch, imbedded into the wall under the stairs. It was only a meter in height and about two meters in length, black obsidian bars covered in spike like thorns, yet the thorns only effected angles, not demons like himself.
Walking over to the cell, he crouched down to see the angel was still wrapped up in a neat feathered ball in the far back corner of the cage. Cody could here him crying and begging for someone to come help him, someone to come free him. Cody could hear him hoping for his family to find and help him. His mother, his father, his uncle, he was more scared than the average angle his father kidnapped, then again, those angles were adults, not teens like this one in front of him.
"We're off Cody!" His mother yelled from the door.
"Burn the house down for us!" His siblings yelled out together.
"Break that little angle for me son. Make me proud!" His father bellowed.
At those words, the angle shuddered, his feathery puff ball getting tighter. Cody looked back at his family, now leaving. As their car zipped off, Cody turned back to the angel. "Hello?" He asked, hoping for a response. The angle said nothing, just shifted his wings. "I'm Cody. Your name?" He continued, but still nothing from the shuddering angle.
Just as Cody was about to leave to grab something, the angle shakily spoke. "J-Joe." He didn't move his wings or pick his head out, just spoke in a shaky tone.
"Joe Huh? Cool name." Cody said, trying his hardest to sound friendly. Against all odds, the angle shifted his wings to per out slightly. His eyes shone blue, his skin was almost the same shade as his own, and his wing were beautiful. "Hi." Cody repeated from earlier.
Joe shifted uncomfortably, but seeing as no one else was here, he unfolded his wings, revealing a blue shirt with some sort of logo in it and his dark blue pants. "Um, hi?" Joe responded.
