At first, there was only a vast emptiness. Then, there came light. It filled the void and everything in it. But with it came a darker, more sinister force: Darkness. Since their birth, both primal forces have been at war, causing endless destruction and creation. In the aftermath of their endless fight, a peculiar race of beings was created: the Shad'raa. They were the very first race of immortals; even older than angels or demons. They had the ability to give life and eternal power to anything they chose. For millions of years they gave this power and they found a means to quantify it. It was the required quantity of said power to keep a living being's essence eternally alive. They called it, a soul. However, the Darkness, having grown sentient and angry with the creation it shared with its counterpart, captured all of the Shad'raa and transformed them to its image. They became twisted creatures that stole and consumed the souls of the beings that now possessed them. For millions of years, they terrorized mortals everywhere and none were safe from their destructive ways. Then, one day, one of the Shad'raa broke free of the Darkness' affliction and was appalled at what her people had become. She fled the monstrosities that had become the Shad'raa and she sought the aid of mortals. For two centuries, she roamed the lands, seeking to convince and amass all the mortals she could to her cause. Eventually, with her army ready, she advanced on the twisted Shad'raa and waged a massive and vicious war on them. It took but a few years for her forces to be decimated by the twisted beasts that her people had become and the war seemed lost to her, at least in the eyes of the Dark Shad'raa. However, being a cunning strategist, she had managed to capture a group of these Dark Shad'raa and she freed them from the affliction. With more powerful allies, she soon struck back at the Shad'raa, who had not yet time to recover from the losses they suffered during the battle, and, this time, succeeded. She saved as many Shad'raa as she could from the affliction, but some chose death rather than freedom. After such a massacre, she made many beneficial changes for the people of the Shad'raa and the mortals that fought by the side of her cause. She created a council of elders, composed of the first group of freed ones, which would rule and guide her people into an eternal reign of peace and prosperity. As for the mortals that had aided her, she turned them into Shad'raa as it was her gift with souls. To this day, the people of the Shad'raa have prospered and lived peacefully with the other beings in the world, all thanks to this woman whom has been known under many names: Saviour, Supreme Elder, Slayer of the Dark Ones. Yet despite these titles, her true name will never be forgotten: Drash'aa.
