18th June 1989-

Eddie Kaspbrak watched as the city he knew fade away behind him. He watched his dreams, friends and family fade away too.. As they followed the cars, moving upstream like salmon during mating season. The hours passed by slowly, he daydreamed about the new house. New town. New life. New friends. As they approached the small town known as 'Derry', Eddie noticed his string decreasing in length.
"Maybe s h e lives in here?" The quiet boy mumbled to himself.
"What was that, Eddie-Bear?" Sonia asked.
"Nothing Mommy!" Eddie replied quickly.

Sonia turned her focus back on to the grey cement road head of the two, driving into an unfamiliar environment which would then become their new home.

Meanwhile, the lanky teen named Richie Tozier was swiftly making his way down to the park, the spot where the Losers had agreed to meet at. As he strategically made his way through Derry, he noticed a car parked outside of the Pharmacy. Through the window of the run-down looking car, he saw a silhouette of a person. Richie just decided to brush it off and thought it was just a kid waiting for their absent mother/father.

The 'kid' inside happened to be Eddie Kaspbrak. His mom was inside the Pharmacy setting an account up for the doe-eyed beauty waiting in the vehicle outside in the polluted environment. Eddie peered out of the window at the outside world. So many people walking, driving, talking. Minding their own business. It was so close and yet it was out of Eddie's reach; being held back by a layer of metal and glass. Whilst watching the humanoids outside, Eddie noticed a taller boy on a skateboard, concentrating on the road ahead. The brunette's eyes noticed the red entwined thread around their finger which connected to his own. His jaw slightly agape.

"M-My soulmate's a boy?!" The thought echoed through his mind as if he yelled into a tunnel, the brick walls throwing the words back at his fragile figure. The loud shout leaving him broken and bruised. Eddie couldn't believe his eyes. He prayed the ravenette he saw would leave quickly so his Mom didn't see what he had just saw.

Richie approached the pile of bikes that had been carelessly discarded by his fellow Losers. Laughter and talking came into ear shot as he came closer and closer to his group of friends. No. His family. His home. They were the only ones who loved Richie for who he is, not caring if he was a "fairy". A heart-warming feeling overcame the teen. He belonged.

"Hey whores!" Richie said, almost shouting. He found a spot on the bench his friends were sitting on next to the firecracker of a chick, Beverly Marsh. The girl had short, fiery red hair which reminded the group of January embers. She was a mix of Spicy and Sweet. Spicy from her feisty side. Beverly Marsh is willing to fight anyone for the sake of her friend group. Her sweet side was what her friends adored most about the spunky chick.  She knows the best way to comfort her friends. They were like brothers to her. All except from Ben Hanscom. Beverly adored Ben and his impeccable writing talent.

"Hey hoe." Bev responded, taking a long drag of a cigarette, the nicotine stinging her lungs. She flicked the cigarette butt and blew the cloudy smoke into Richie's face.

"Thanks for that." He said sarcastically in return of the fiery chick's actions. Beverly smirked.

"What are you losers talking about?" The lanky teen questioned.

"P-Plans f-fuh-for Stan's bir-birthday." Bill stuttered in reply to Richie's question.

"Isn't that weeks away?"

Bill nodded in response. Richie shrugged it off and the group of outcasts practically burst into a clutter of noise, discussing different ideas for their Jewish friend's birthday celebration. After a few long hours of snarky comments and Richie's sex jokes, the Ravenette had to (unfortunately) return to the cold, unloving, religious household he lived in.

Eddie sorted through the newly opened cardboard boxes whilst Africa played on his old walkman. He sang the lyrics quietly, and almost angelically. The melodies were too loud to hear his mother's calls from downstairs.

"EDDIE!" She yelled, her voice straining a little.

The doe-eyed beauty heard the calls and ran swiftly down the mahogany staircase, stumbling a few times, threatening to fall down.

"Yes mommy?"

"I have some cookies for the neighbors, would you be a dear and give the plate to them?"

Eddie, knowing he had no choice, obliged.

"That's my boy!" Sonia smiled a little vindictively, pinching the boy's cheek a bit too harshly. Eds winced and rubbed his cheek where the grown woman, the manipulator's sausage like fingers once were, whilst the woman went into their new, not-so-pristine kitchen to receive a plate of store-bought loft house cookies. Eddie took the plate and walked across the road to what looked like a rather posh house. He walked up the gravel pathway to the front door and knocked three times on the sweet-smelling oak door then waited for a response.

Upstairs in one of the many rooms of said house was one Richard Tozier jamming to Africa by Toto. The sound of the knocks echoed through the house.

"I'LL GET IT!" Richie called out to his parents but had nothing but silence in return. He slid down the fragile banister and jogged over to the front door. The ravenette opened it and standing there was the most beautiful young boy he had ever seen. The brunette looked up at the lanky teen.

"Hi."
