"Now you may kiss the bride."
She smiled widely, waiting for the latter to lean closer and do the exact thing. The man leaned down, touching the girls lips with his for a very short time before pulling away and looked at the guests, smiling brightly. The girl just stared at the beautiful man beside her, feeling upset for the short peck hence the feeling vanished when she saw the boxy smile appeared across his face. She thought to herself, after so long, separated far away from each other.
Finally, she got the man she waited for her life.
The man she never stopped loving for these past 14 years.
Her beloved best friend that she admired so much yet never have the guts to tell him her real feelings.
Nevertheless, the universe and the fate were on her side. The day when suddenly her parents called her to come home over something urgent when later she found out she would get into an arrange marriage.
She was furious. She did not want to get married. She wanted to wait for him to come back home and tell him about her never-changing feelings before she moved on with her life if she got rejected.
Like, IF she was rejected, which she was hoping not.
However, when she found out about him, there was no second though in agreeing this marriage.
After he moved to Australia at age 17 to learn the world of business in order to help with his fathers company in the future, she was devastated. She was going to survive the senior year and college alone, without her best friend.
And that's how a promise was made.
'I promise I will come back and we can hang out with each other like before. Im just one Skype away, don't be sad.'
The promise was what kept the girl to go on with her life. She graduated her high school, accepted into her dream university and now here she is.
A well-known architect who had a lot of credit in the progress of building some skyscrapers existed in Korea and Canada.
She was very passionate and hard working towards her career. As she grew older, the naïve and cheeky girl changed into an elegant and charismatic woman. She was a little bit cold and intimidating when she was working but the naïve side came back when she was with her family and some people that she was comfortable.
"Yah, Shin Ji-yeon!"
I turned around to the voice, only to squeal loudly at the sight of the girls, Hara and Gain. I ran towards them, struggling a bit in the process with my long wedding dress and heels.
'Gosh, I swear to God, these heels are killing me.'
I thought to myself before hugging the two excited girls. The wide smile never leave the girls faces as they witnessed the merry moments of their best friend getting married to the man that shes been waiting. Hara shed a happy tear, earning a gentle slap on her arms.
"Don't cry. I'll cry too if you do." I let out a small laugh, holding myself back from crying.
We talked and laughed about the wedding and Gain kept teasing me about how whipped I was towards my husband. The thought of calling him, my husband gave me weird but good feelings. The teasing kept going on and my face went redder as time goes by until a deep voice interrupted us.
It was him, Kim Taehyung. My first love.
"Ji-yeon, I need to talk to you." I nodded and followed him out of the hall into a quiet hallway. He leaned against the wall and looked at me with his bottom lip between his teeth. I looked at him with sparkling eyes.
Oh lord, I might sound obsessed but I love him so much.
"What do you want to talk about?"
He took a deep breath before letting out a big sigh. He walked closer and his body was towering me. I raised an eyebrow, fiddling with my fingers.
"Look, I dont know why and how you agree that fast on this marriage. This is absurd."
"What do you mean?" I frowned.
"I just accepted this marriage because of my parents. No love involved okay?"
"It's okay. Love can be build. We can do this toge-"
"I have a girlfriend."
That was how my heart shattered into pieces.
