The next week or so hadn't been very eventful. It was just the two of them walking, talking, and enjoying each others company. In the alone time that Snufkin had, usually when Moomin was laying down to sleep, he would think about Moomin. He thought a lot about Moomin.

One night, he had been laying on the grass, attempting to organize his feelings, something he rarely did. Most of the time, he chose to ignore them. This had been slowly eating away at him for years, and he couldn't just ignore them anymore. It would drive him insane.

He discovered that the heart of all of the madness in his head was Moomin. "Moomin..." he whispered to himself.

It was clear. The fuzzy feeling he felt when was around Moomin. The way his heart would race at his touch. It was painfully obvious and Snufkin had known for a long time, but he was refusing to acknowledge it. He thought it made him weak.

He always had this narrative in his head that he would be alone for his whole life. Traveling around, seeing everything there was to see. He didn't really get lonely, and he didn't see the need for interaction with other people. Thats is, until he met Moomin. He got attached. He discovered loneliness. How sick it can make someone feel. How great it feels to finally see someone else after being lonely for weeks. Someone he truly cared about.

Snufkin was angry at himself for feeling this way. For getting attached in the first place. He should've seen it coming. Barely interacting with a single soul for his entire life, and then suddenly becoming friends with someone. Romantic feelings were bound to develop. But he had been selfish. Moomin probably didn't even feel the same. And if he did, what then? Settling down just wasn't something he had ever wanted to do. He hated the idea of settling down, but the idea of settling down with Moomin was different. He knew it was something he could never be truly happy with that life , but a small part of him wanted it more than anything.

He was getting ahead of himself. The likelihood of Moomin returning his feelings was low. He knew that. At the same time he knew he would have to tell him eventually, or else it would only eat away at him even more.

Assessing his feelings made him feel better and worse all at the same time.

"We're almost there, Moomin," Snufkin said. Moomin was so excited, he was almost bouncing as he walked.

Suddenly, they saw someone running far in the distance. He had a backpack on, and seemed to be clutching a few items in his arms. He disappeared into the woods.

"I wonder what that was about," Moomin said, "I hope he's okay."

"Seemed like he was coming from the direction of the town," Snufkin said blankly.
