Lyra Winters got captured by HYDRA. Lyra was tortured and made into Bucky's help whenever Bucky needed it, and that's how the two fell in love.
Though they were both brainwashed, they remembered each other and their love. They kept it a secret, until one of the members of HYDRA saw Lyra caring for Bucky. HYDRA locked Lyra away from Bucky, making him angry and sad. Lyra felt the same way. When HYDRA was distracted one day, Bucky freed Lyra.
