"Kane! Come on, don't make this any harder than it needs to be. You're busted - give it up!" Yelled officer Daniels.
"Do I need to call back up?" Officer Mack asked.
"Most definitely, we don't know what this sick fuck might have waiting for us in there," Daniels answered, gripping his pistol.
Both officers were leaned up against the door frame of an old abandoned wooden cabin near the lake, off Springfield Dr. From the outside they could already smell a really foul odor creeping from somewhere inside the cabin. The smell would of caused any other average person to eject what they had for lunch, or at least gag. But being in their kind of work for almost 15 years meant it would take a lot to churn their stomach. Daniels had guessed Kane probably had a pile of corpses just lying there waiting to be dissected, or fucked to satisfy his sick psychological needs.
He hoped not.
But he had to stay real. Considering the situation, and the kind of person they were after, his prediction was most likely accurate. Kane had been wanted for the past three years. During this time, he would snatch up a few dozen or so girls or women every couple months and murder them. And no way in hell was he going to give them an easy death. He had to play with them a little - and make them suffer. His victims would typically be tortured to death, usually in a variety of different ways. Based on the number of his victims found so far, his favorite methods of torture seemed to be burning and cutting his victims for some reason. He would amputate the victims' limbs, or slowly cut them with a razor. Burn marks, open cuts, dismembered limbs, and even peeled faces of victims became more prevalent at most of the crime scenes over the last few years.
Daniels peeped inside the cabin, kind of expecting to catch a surprise slug in the face from Kane. But instead all he saw was a dim, short, and narrow hall with a very dark end. He stood there and thought it over for a minute. No way he could just lead his partner in there blindly, and get picked off one by one. He wasn't trying to be another add to Kane's victim list. His land of blood rain ends today, Daniels thought.
"Call more officers here, now! We finally have this son of a bitch and I wanna make sure he doesn't get away," Daniels ordered Mack.
Mack held the walkie-talkie clipped on his uniform and spoke into it.
"This is officer Terry Mack, and we have an eye on Kane Shards here at a wooden cabin, on Springfield Drive. I repeat, we're on Springfield Drive! Send more officers here to surround the building. We're calling for back up." Mack gave Daniels a thumbs up to confirm that he called for back up. Daniels nodded his head in approval.
Hours later, the cabin was completely surrounded by officers, and a heavily armed swat team. There was a helicopter hovering in the air pointing a huge flood light down on the cabin, singling it out from it's dark surroundings. Nearly a dozen squad cars along with a few armored trucks were parked behind the many officers marching up and down the sides of cabin, gripping their assault rifles and forming a small army in the area. The channel five news crew was also there to broadcast the standoff . Nearly the entire town was watching, at the edge of their seats in anticipation, hoping the twisted murderer would finally be caught .
The first armed officer braced himself with his assault rifle pointed, and cautiously stepped inside the almost pitch black hallway. A small trail of the officers followed him inside, instantly breaking apart and searching other areas but still sticking close by. The only source of light in their current area was one lit candle sitting on an old broken down china cabinet ahead. The cabin was very dusty. All the officers could see through the beams of their flashlights were small particles of dust slowly falling. It caused one of the men to sneeze. But what really caught their attention was the putrid smell - Like decaying corpses.
