Flying with Bats

Chapter Three

(Ethan's POV)

When I woke up, I was in the basement of the old house. I tried to escape, but I was chained to the wall.

Go figure.

"Now if I could find a knife and sharpie, we'd be good to go." I heard that voice say with a smirk. The asshole that can't just leave us alone. Dad. Or Duncan D'cents. Just then, I heard a crash.

"Leave him alone!" I heard a girl yell. I instantly recognized the voice as M'Gann from Young Justice. She's this really cool Martian. Plus her skin is green! My favorite color! She came into view with Superboy and Aqualad. Duncan picked up a gun and shot me in the stomach before Superboy lunged at him. It was so cool to watch. But because of the pain, I screamed and couldn't hear the fight. Aqualad got me out of the chains and gave me to M'Gann. She flew me outside and layed me onto the ground.

"Ethan!" I heard someone yell. It sounded like Bruce, but I'm not sure. I blacked out.


(Bruce)

As Batman, my job is to protect the city. My kids live in this city, so I have to protect them, too. I'm right now transferring a beat-up Duncan to jail. I was going to make sure that he rot there. He deserved to after what he did to Ethan and Skyler. I felt bad. I ordered Nightwing to take Ethan back to the Batcave. I have to go back to the hospital for Skyler. I asked one of the nurses which room she was in and I went right up to her. She was talking to one of the doctors. I cleared my throat and the doctor left with fear taking over his whole body.

"What were you doing out there tonight?" I asked her, glaring. She glared right back.

"I was protecting the city like I normally do." she told me, not backing down.

"Normally?" I questioned. She nodded and leaned back in her seat.

"Yes. Somehow, I have powers. I use them to protect people against that menace that is my so-called father. And just wait until Bruce finds out about this. He'll flip out." she said, looking out the window.

"Protecting the city is my job. You could always join the Justice League. Plus, you could have a protege. At least then, you would be fighting under our noses." I told her. She growled.

"No. I'm not going to join those stupid heroes. The only two heroes that actually help out with local help are Superman and you." she told me. She despised the Justice League. I know why, too. Their father raped Wonder Woman years ago. And after her father told Wonder Woman what he did, and showed her, she did nothing. I still question why she didn't tell us or tell authorities.

"Skyler, listen. I still wonder why she didn't do anything. I'm sorry. But I promise that we will get Ethan. Just join the League so we can help you." I pleaded with her. She sighed and nodded. I smiled.

"Would it be wrong if I said I have a crush on you?" she asked in a small voice. I chuckled and shook my head. I layed down with her and we both fell asleep.

(Nightwing)

No one knows who this Aqua character is except Batman. And he won't tell any of us. Not even Alfred. So I decided to track him down. I found him in a hospital. Next to my girlfriend, Skyler. 

"Really, Batman?" I asked in the coldest voice I could do. But I have a valid fucking reason.
