As Sister Angelica walked out of her bed chambers, she looked down through the stained glass windows as a young man was sitting at the Altar of Christ praying. She made her way down and saw who it was, the curly hair had given it away too easily. The young man was about 5'5", a bit slim for his look, but well-fed at least. He had a black robe on, the ones Christian pastures wore. He sat there head tilted down, his beads in had, although it was a Sunday afternoon, he was always praying even after his practices and morning teachings were over. As Sister Angelica briskly walked down the stairs, she came up next to the young man and smiled, kneeling with him. She lowered her head and looked over to the young man.

"Hello, Spencer..." The young man simply nodded, not opening his eyes nor breaking his silence. She nodded as well and they sat there for a few more moments, only the sounds of cars in the front of the church being heard as horns honked and people strolled along yelling for a taxi here and there. The young man was the first to stop his prayer, having been there for a while. As he got up, the dust that had settled around his legs lifted, he headed calmly towards the stairs, not having any expression besides a blank stare. As he headed upstairs, he heard people yelling, he walked to where the sounds were coming from, a large door with etches of the lord and his life discreetly placed around the whole door. As he knocked, the yelling stopped, a few bits of shuffling and the door was opened, out briskly walked Father Gabrial, he looked a bit embarrassed and enraged. As he walked past, the young man peeked his head inside.

"Mother Alice?.." The mother of the church sat behind a huge ebony desk, her face slightly red, probably with anger and her lungs being used to yell and argue some point.

"Yes my child, please come in and sit," she said to the young man, which entered and sat in the chair that the mother had pointed to. "You must have heard Father Gabrial and I arguing, I'm sorry you had to hear that.""Is it about your plan to send a few of the students to regular schools since our past 7 teachers left us?" the young man asked.

"Sadly, yes... He thinks it's not right for some students to abandon our teachings for a school they may not feel is a great fit for themselves, and I agreed. I just see no other way, if we already pay hundreds of dollars for teachers per month, why not give a real school a try?... Do you know what I mean my child?" The young man simply smiled sweetly, nodding.

"Yes, Mother Alice." He turned to leave the room, not wanting to take too much of her time. As he headed to the door, mother Alice swiftly swept around the table and tugged on his arm.

"My young student, you know that we had a special school picked out for you, right?" The young man turned and nodded slightly.

"I only know I won't be going with my brothers and sisters and that it's a bit expensive for a person such as I," the young man said, thinking quietly to himself. Mother Alice gave a sweet smile nodding.

"Yes, you are going to a private school, I knew the headmaster so he gave me a deal, which is why I just stopped you before I forgot," Mother Alice said this with a bit of a glint in her eye, one that meant she was excited or ready to hit someone with a ruler.

"What would be the deal Mother Alice?" She spun back around her desk and pulled out a thick folder with tabs every few sections or so. She pushed it forwards and simply smiled. The young man took the folder and nodded.

"I'll read it when I start packing," he said as he looked at the cover briefly. With that the young man left and headed to his room, packing the little things he had, he was already 16, but he was being transferred to a senior section of the school he would be attending. As he entered his room, he peered over at his bed to an almost packed bag. He already knew that he was to leave tomorrow morning to a school, he knew that his life would soon end since he would be moving out of state to a private academy, only knowing from overhearing Mother Alice and Father Gabrial earlier that week. He packed the few remaining things he had left and set it next to the door with his other bag and 5 boxes of the items he would bring to his dorm he would be given. After this, he fell onto his near baren bed, besides the sheet and blanket that he would be able to pack away the next morning. He still had the folder on one of the boxes near the door.

He walked over and picked it up, returning to his bed, as he sat down he peered at the cover, it had a crest, one of what looked like an orca or whale on the main part and the word "Mariner" on the top. He looked inside to see he was going to be in a small class for some seniors, he overlooked the schedule he was given, one of many basics from English IV and History of the World. He had 5 spaces left to choose electives. He pulled the list out and peered at it. He saw some he was interested in and one that had a sticky-note attached, he looked at the note and it said.

"Assignment, one elective must be Play Production," he said softly. He seemed weirded out by this but shrugged, circling 4 others and pausing at Play Prod. He peered at the note and sighed thinking for a moment.

"What was this assignment that they want me to do?.. it seems... not in the norm, is this some test or prank?.." He took a moment before deciding to circle it and he went to the top of the page to place his name, Spencer Bliss.
