Estelle's POV
After a while, Damon got a call from the sheriff saying that something had happened down at the mayor's house and that he needed to get down there right away. She didn't say that it was just an emergency. Well whatever it is, it is better than staying at the creepy witch mansion.
So that leads us to know where Damon, Liz, Mrs Lockwood and I are standing over Johns dead. "Welp he's dead, what can we do?" I shrug not seeing how this has anything to do with us. Mrs Lockwood gives me a terrified glance probably not imagining that I would say that about a relative while Liz just gives me a look already knowing the full story.
Damon bends down closer to John's body and starts to look over it. He comes to a stop when he lifts John's arm and sees the ring on his finger. "You've got to be kidding me," I groan out knowing he will still be here to annoy me.
Damon then stands back up and looks towards the sheriff and mayor. "He'll be fine in a couple of hours," he huffs out.
"What are you talking about?" Mayor Lockwood breathes out. "Damon, he's dead," she continues.
"That is not true, he has a magical ring," I exclaim as I lift my head to look at them. They both give me weird looks. "What? It's true," I shrug.
Damon then continues to further explain, "Well here's the thing. John's ring? It's an old Gilbert family heirloom that protects its owner from death by a supernatural entity," he explains.
"But he's not breathing, he has no pulse," Mrs Lockwood continues and gestures to the not moving body on the floor.
"He will be. Trust me," Damon says as he starts to grab Johns body and walk away. "We're gonna need a cover story," he elaborates while dragging John. "Epileptic fit, alcohol binge, banana peel, whatever works. Right now, I just have to get him out of here," he finishes as I follow him to wherever he is dragging Johns body to most likely the car and then the boarding house.
