Why is my waist so small? My body looks so disproportionate for a guy. Ugh, I should have just worn the hoody. But that would seem too underdressed for a date. Okay, my hair looks fine, medium-length black hair with bangs ending just above my eye.

I stand in front of the mirror, looking for any last-minute touches, contemplating my . I wore a simple check shirt pairing it with a fit blue jean. Nah, I look perfectly fine. I check my brother's room to see that he is still sleeping. I quickly scribble down a small note, even though he knows that I have somewhere to be right now.

Jae, I am going on a date. Don't freak out, I told you about this yesterday if you remember. I'll be back in 2 hrs max. Food is kept in the microwave, heat it. Take care and in case of any emergency, call me ASAP. Also, keep the room ready for a movie marathon. Love you!

Grabbing my wallet, keys, phone, and a black, casual length coat, I walk out of my house, not forgetting to lock the door. I breathe in the fresh air of Busan in November.

The yellow trees pass by me as I walk to a local cafe a.k.a. my ideal first date place. The air isn't chilly and the streets are still as crowded as ever. Most people are undressed or overdressed.

Today's the day, I have a coffee date with this Taehyung guy who I found on Tinder. He looks good and seems funny from what I chatted with him so far. The only problem is he wouldn't show his face completely. He doesn't have any other social media accounts too. (Suspicious much? I know.) My only hope is that he shows up and recognizes me.

Ten minutes of brisk walking leads me to Aroma cafe, my eyes raking over the bright pink and blue plaint, which glistens in the sunlight. The waft of coffee hits me as I walk in and I couldn't help but smile automatically. I wave to the waitress and she leads me to my usual spot. I check the time 10:46 AM. I don't need to wait for long then, our date is supposed to be at 11 but it's better to arrive early (or so my brother said).

The shop is small but cozy. The tress placed at a regular distance and walls designed to make the place appear as a hut, with wooden ornaments adorning the walls. The cafe is my refuge, this place I can make believe that I am in a caring society, a second family. So in this cafe, among the noises of people, their scent, their occasional glances, and the chatter of the baristas, I look around the shop, smiling at the people who I have known since I was a kid.

My eyes land upon an unfamiliar face, who, to my surprise, stares back at me. We maintain eye contact for a while as if it was a competition before I simply choose to look away. Acting unbothered, I look outside the small window, looking at the buzzing streets. Through my peripheral vision, I can see him continue to stare at me. An uneasy feeling creeps into my body but I pretend to be busy on my phone.

While I aimlessly scroll through my Instagram account, I see the same male walk over to my table. I hope with all my wish that he just walks by me, but to my dismay, he stops right in front of me.

"Mind if I give you some company?"

His voice is sweet, angelic one might say. I look up to see the man, who was surprisingly shorter than me, smile at me warmly. I couldn't help do a thorough at him. He was dressed in an oversized grey sweater and black jeans. Just as I opened my mouth to answer, my phone rang. I read the caller ID.

Taehyung 💜

"Excuse me, I need to take this call.", I say politely as I walk away from my table to a secluded corner of the restaurant.

"Hi, Tae", I speak into the call.

"Hi, baby, have you already left your house?", Taehyung replies, his voice as deep as ever. I try to (unsuccessfully) fight my blush at the nickname.
