I heard the front door open, then close and froze. "Chihiro will come around. She's not as stubborn as Kunoichi."
"You speak as though that matters now." Fugaku and Shisui... "Your wife doesn't hold the beast, and we are bound by this contract. We must kill the girl."
I heard something slam. "You will not touch either. Do you understand me?"
Fugako chuckled. "Then you expect to live under this girl's control? Unable to defend our clan if the village decides to eliminate us."
"She wouldn't do something like that. It's only if the clan attacks the village."
"You seem to know her so well... yet not well enough to know she'd commit suicide on your wedding, in front of not only our village, but many others."
"I knew she wasn't going to kneel so easily. She always has a plan..."
"All to be with my traitor, son... such a disappointment."
"No... it wasn't for Itachi, and he is no traitor."
"I know you think of him as your little brother, but rather than fight for his place with the clan and his birthright, he chooses that girl. He is bound by this wretched contract, too, and yet he still chooses her."
"Not just her... the Leaf village as a whole. The very village that shunned and banished her."
"Is that admiration I hear in your voice? No matter, after what you did, Itachi will be on his knees, begging to return."
"I wouldn't be so sure... he's more powerful than you give him credit for."
"He lusts for this girl... this monster... you didn't put anything in his head that he wasn't already thinking himself. Also, it would seem that Sasuke's little friend also possesses part of the Nine Tails."
"Why would you think that?"
"Sasuke told me of strange happenings with the boy. The signs are all there. He is not strong enough to resist if w-"
"You wouldn't."
"For this clan, I would, and there is one Uchiha who is not bound. He has an interest in the boy as well now."
I had stopped breathing, and Sasuke shook me. "You can't be here." I didn't move as footsteps drew closer. "Chichi, they wi-"
He was too late as the door had already begun to open. I removed my hands from his shoulders and looked at the door, Shisui stood frozen. "Kunoichi..."
I gave him a deadly look. "We knew... what you had done, Shisui." He tried to approach only to be stopped by the barrier. "I will tell you this only once. Stay away from Itachi and Naruto... or I will kill you all."
Fear shone in his eyes. "I would nev-"
The head of the clan stepped into view. "Sasuke... it seems you've brought us a gift."
Sasuke stepped in front of me. "Stay away from her."
He smirked. "We have little use for her if what you told me was true."
I met his eyes. "You know, I think you always wanted me to kill you." He opened his mouth to retort, but I had already captured his mind in my own. He was surrounded by flames and looked around frantically. Come anywhere near Naruto, and I will destroy you and all that you hold dear and trust me... I'm very capable of doing just that.
Images of his slaughtered clan lay before him. That goes for Madara as well... I felt myself shaking and came back to reality, not quite releasing him. "Sister, please!"
I heard Fugaku's yelps and mummers and relished them. Your son pleads for mercy... cute. I intensified the vision and set fire to the fallen clan. I felt arms surround me. "Kunoichi... end this."
I gasped as I lost focus and looked at the man curled in a fetal position on the floor. I stepped out of Itachi's hold to stand over him. "You said I was a monster... you have no idea." I walked past his shrunken figure, and out of the door, Itachi followed close behind.
He said nothing as we strode out of the compound and into the village. I didn't stop when I made it to Minato's door and walked in. He and Jiraiya were talking in the living room and looked up. Minato stood. "What's wrong?"
I stopped before the pervert. "Take Naruto out of this village today and train him past his limits. The Uchiha know... they'll be coming for him as soon as the opportunity presents itself. He needs to be ready."
They exchanged a glance as Naruto stumbled in from his room. "What? Why?"
I looked him over. "As I told Sasuke, you are no child, and I will not speak to as such. Sit, we need to talk."
His features turned serious, and he sat beside his father. "What about, Sis?"
I sat across from him. "What do you know about the Nine Tailed Fox?"
He blinked. "He attacked the village, and you saved it... by becoming his host."
Minato shook his head. "He's not re-"
I glared at him. "Tell me, Naruto... have you been having episodes where you feel full of a chakra that is not your own, to the point of being overwhelmed by it?"
He averted his gaze. "Yeah, but it's only in tough situations... it's adrenaline or something, right?"
I looked at him sadly. "No, it's because everything you've been told about that night... was a lie." Surprise crossed his features, but also a bit of understanding. You haven't been prepared for this, but now more than ever... you need to start.
