I burst open my eyes when I feel the turbulence on the plane. I hear the captain say that we're about to land and look out the window. It's so beautiful, it's so different from New Mexico. I hate where I live it's just a bunch of dirt, so I'm excited to see all this green here. When the plane stops I take my bags and rush to get off. I start walking through the airport and get lost a few times but I finally make it out to the pick up lot. Since I came out here to take this seminar I have to stay with a family that I don't know because they're also going. I wait for the family to pick me up, I have no idea what they look like so I'm really nervous. A white car pulls up in front of me and holds a sign with my name on it. I wave my hands and smile. I put my suitcase in the car and get in.
"Hi!!! My name is Michelle, and this is my daughter, Ava."
"Hi!" I say and smile
"How was your flight?" Michelle says
"It was good, I slept most of the way!"
After our short introduction I'm quite nervous as they keep asking me questions. I'm not normally this nervous talking to people but I barely met them and I'm in a new place. We arrive at their house, they help me get my suitcase and give me a tour of the house.
"Is it okay if I take a nap? I'm quite tired from the flight"
"Of course, let me know if you need anything" Ava tells me
I walk to the bedroom I will be staying in and lay down on the bed. I let my family know I made it and fall asleep.
