It was a beautiful and sunny day in France. You were out with your friend, Sherry. You and the dark haired girl and grown to be close friends over the years. You'd known her since 7th grade and you were now in 10th.
Sherry's older brother, Jean Pierre, used to be nothing but an annoyance to you and Sherry. Slowly he'd grown more and more mature though, thank the lord.
You and Sherry were heading to a small candy shop in town. It had been a tradition between the two of you since you were 13 years old to head to the chocolate shop and have malts every Sunday morning.
The shop owner, a chubby Italian lady named Daniella ran the shop. She was a sweet older woman who came to France to live near her son and grandchildren. She treated you and Sherry as her own daughters, and you two respected her like a mother.
You followed Sherry into the shop, greeting Daniella once you got in. "Bonjour, Daniella! How are you today?" you asked her.
Daniella waved to the two of you. "I'm doing great! How about you girls?" She turned around to start making your usual order.
"We're doing lovely today" Sherry smiled. You both set down your parasols next to yourselves. Sherry took out an embroidery peice she was working on, an orange lilly.
Daniella came around with the drinks for the girls. "Gave you girls an extra cherry today but shh, no telling!" The old woman laughed and you both smiled.
"Oh, Sherry! Your brother looks different these days! He came in earlier and I could've sworn his hair was a meter tall!" Daniella laughed at her joke and Sherry gave Daniella a questioning look.
"Oh? What was Jean doing here? He told me he was outing with a friend today" Sherry internally knew why, but wanted some confirmation from Daniella.
Daniella put on her apron and began getting out ingredients for gelato. "He was buying black tea and red velvet truffles! His taste sure has changed lately..."
You had a bit of a confused look. Jean would usually get salted caramel or fudge. Never truffles. Those were your favorites too... how strange.
You and Sherry finished up your malts and made conversation with Daniella. You worked on reading a book while Sheet finished her embroidery, which was on a new apron for Daniella, so Sherry hid it from her view.
You and Sherry said your goodbyes and began walking back to Sherry's house. On the way you saw dress shop and Sherry insisted you go in and pick out one with her.
You and Sherry spent the afternoon in the garden and playing with the barn kittens.
At 3pm you bid her farewell and headed home. It was a short walk, no more than 10 minutes. Once home you tried on your new dress, a white off the shoulder chiffon dress. It ended mid thigh and had flowy sleeves. It was comfortable and you loved it.
After taking it off you opted for a blue cardigan with a black tank top and comfortable shorts.
The next day you slept in a bit late, 10am. You take off the cardigan and head downstairs to make yourself breakfast. You have cereal with a glass of milk then after that you go brush your teeth.
