Chapter One: Interest

I started to walk home after high school. My friend had told me about a game called... what was it... oh, yeah! It was called "Five Nights at Freddy's". It seemed quite weird, with killer animatronics that wandered, but I was actually quite interested. I arrived at my house, and my mother welcomed me. I quickly did my homework (hopefully I got it right) and I logged onto my computer.

I looked up the game on Steam, and it was $5. I paid the money and started up the game.

The title screen was creepy. The bear on the right (Freddy, I assumed) sometimes flashed from a "normal looking" bear to a metallic figure. 'What the hell?' I thought, but I clicked "New Game".

An ad, circled in marker, was shown onscreen. It said, "Family pizzaria looking for security guard to work the nightshift. 12 am to 6 am. Monitor cameras, ensure safety of equipment and animatronic characters. Not responsible for injury/dismemberment." There was a number and how much the character was getting paid ($120, I think), but it was a bit blurry. I was started into the game and was called (in game).

This guy (I'll call him "phone guy") talked about what I was doing, about the company, and some other info, but I didn't really care. I noticed a power counter on the bottom left corner of the screen. I didn't know exactly what to do, but I got it eventually.

The animatronics didn't move much. At about 4 am though, a purple bunny-esque animatronic moved a bit. To the dining hall, to the west hall, to the storage closet. Not a worry. It moved to the corner, and I immediately closed the door, hoping it would go away.

It did a bit into 5 am, and the time ticked by. 6 am rolled around, and a bell sounded (with children congratulating me, I guess). Easy.

Night 2 came, and it was tougher. It was brought to my attention that there was something in Pirate's Cove, and soon a face peeked out a bit. I was surprised, and I checked on it frequently. It came out a bit more, but not much.

I finished Night 2 with about 4% power. 'I wonder what would happen if I ran out.' I thought as I continued.

Night 3 was pretty tough. I started, and the duck (or chicken, I don't know) moved into the dining hall as I listened to the call from phone guy (who the hell is this guy, anyway?). I watched it a bit lazily. About an in game hour later, the bunny came to the dining hall, and the chicken into the bathrooms.

About another two in game hours passed. About 4 am now. I checked on Pirate's Cove. I never checked it until now. The character in it looked like it was ready to run for it, as it leaned out quite a lot. I checked for the bunny and duck-thing, and I found them eventually. But by the time I checked back on Pirate's Cove, the curtains were wide open, the character no where to be seen. I looked at the west hall camera to see it sprinting down the hall towards the office. I quickly closed the camera and tried to shut the door, but the thing came in and screamed in a slightly high pitched voice. My character died (I think), and I got scared.

"What a game! Well, I might as well get a soda or something." I said as I plugged in my laptop. I walked down the stairs. 'This storm is pretty loud.' I thought to myself.

But what Trevor didn't know was that his power system got struck by lightning quickly. The surge went through the cabling in the walls and into his laptop, and it emitted a quiet but deepish laugh, then became silent.

I came back upstairs to change and go to bed. It was a weekend tomorrow, and I didn't want to sleep in too late. "What a scary game." I said. "I'm glad it isn't real. But what if it was?" I laughed softly, and fell asleep a few minutes later.

At about five minutes to midnight, the laugh from the laptop came again, louder than before. The screen displayed a picture of Golden Freddy, emitting an intense golden light. This woke up Trevor, who was still pretty tired.

"What's that light?" I murmured as I rolled out of bed. "What is that?" I asked myself. "Is that a golden version of that bear animatronic?" I touched my laptop, and the words, "TIME FOR YOUR SHIFT", flashed on screen several times, and I was mysteriously warped away. The laptop closed.
