Hello @most_bay and Congratulations on being one of our 2017 Pubber of the Year Runners-Up! Thank you for agreeing to speak with us!

PP - Would you tell us a little about yourself?

most_bay -

It feels a bit weird to talk about myself, since I don't normally share information online, but I'll try what I can...

I go online by the names: Most, Bay, MB, Mosta, most_bay.
Egyptian, Arab, Muslim, aspiring writer and poet. I believe name, age or gender don't matter online as long as there's mutual respect so I mostly share what I feel is relevant to the mind and soul, not the material existence, if that makes sense. :D

I can't say I've been writing since childhood because that wasn't exactly the case. I did love writing but I wasn't consistent or making much progress. Just a few bits and pieces when I was younger and then life happened, and I stopped. I didn't stop reading though. I started writing more consistently about 4-5 years ago.

English is not my mother tongue, but I love writing in English that I almost forgot how to express myself in Arabic XD... it is challenging, but also really intriguing to be able to improve my language while writing what I love. I think that helped me so much in the past few years to strengthen my skills and enjoy the learning process. :)

PP - How long have you been on Wattpad?

most_bay -

I've been on Wattpad since October 2013 but I wasn't active until January 2016. That's when I started publishing my story (Melody) which is still a work in progress until now. :)

PP - What do you enjoy most about the PoetsPub?

most_bay -

What I enjoy most about PoetsPub is many things. The Wonderfully supportive group who runs the pub. The amazing creative contests. The amount of talents and nice people present in one place. The idea of making a welcoming environment for everyone interested in the craft to feel appreciated and embraced by everyone. I can't pick just one reason to enjoy it. :)

PP - How long have you been writing poetry?

most_bay -

I have been writing poetry for over two years. Back then I was kind of embarrassed to call what I wrote 'poetry' because it felt like such a big word for what I was doing. I think now I've learned that anyone can be a poet if they have the guts to put their feelings into words. Then it takes time to be called 'a good poet' or 'a skilled poet' not to mention 'a professional poet'. For me, I'm still learning every day and trying to improve my skills, but I'm hoping I'm in the 'good poet' stage. XD

PP - Where do you find inspiration for your poetry?

most_bay -

I find inspiration for my poetry in anything and everything. It could be a real life situation, something I watched on TV, a story, a person, but most of my poetry collection (Poetic Rants By Akram Sadiq) - which is my first and dearest poetry book- are inspired by the characters of my story (Melody) in the POV of Akram Sadiq who is in Love with Melody. It's mostly romance and that's the theme I'm more comfortable with.

There's also a completely different collection titled (Unugly) which is inspired by my friends and readers as they suggested most of the ideas of the poems based on the things they think are ugly and unattractive. The point of the book is to help us see the beauty in all things. Even the not-so-pretty ones.

Last but not least, there's the PoetsPub poetry prompts. There's always something interesting to write about every day for the different collections/ contests. It's a place of true inspiration. :)

PP - Is poetry your main genre or do you write other things? If so what else do you enjoy writing?

most_bay -

Poetry isn't my main genre, because when I started I was writing prose/fiction but now poetry has a special place in my heart. I enjoy writing one chapter stories and micro-fiction. My latest work (Nanobites) is a book of a 100 word stories written by my friends and myself. I really enjoy the condensed stories that convey a good message in a few words. :)

PP - What advice would you give to poets who are just starting out?

most_bay -

My advice to poets who are just starting is: keep writing all the time. Don't be discouraged by criticism because if all the famous artists were discouraged by their haters, we wouldn't have found any form of art standing till date. Be yourself and be honest about what you're writing and don't forget to enjoy what you do.

PP - Do you have a favorite author on Wattpad? What about outside of Wattpad?

most_bay -

It's hard for me to name a favorite author to be honest. I don't think I have read enough to determine my favorite author. Can I just be diplomatic and say I love them all? XD

PP - You are throwing a dinner party and you can invite any 10 authors, living, dead or fictional. Who do you invite?

most_bay -

I can invite a fictional author? Hmm! There's one fictional author I wrote once. Her name is (Severna Rogers) and she only writes when there's a storm roaring outside her house...

I may also invite (Stephen King) and scare the cramp out of him for all what he did to us reading his books! XD

An Egyptian writer named (Nabeel Farouk) whose books were the highlight of my youth.

Ahmed K. Tawfiq : another Egyptian horror writer. I'll prank him too, just like the king!

R. L. Stine: he won't leave until he gets the "Goosebumps!" XD

Stephenie Meyer: the author of Twilight. (You better not get a paper cut in this party!)

Oliver Strunk: author of Elements Of Style. He'll probably correct the grammar of everyone until they run away XD

J.K. Rowling: but no magic allowed outside of campus!

Antar Ibn Shaddad: the famous Arab poet.

I'm stuck in number 10! Maybe I should invite someone from Wattpad. Hmm! Ok!

I hope @Lyttlejoe could accept my invitation? I think he'll add a unique and light-hearted aura to the party. :)

PP - Thank you so much for speaking with us. Is there anything else you would like to add?

most_bay -

You are most welcome. I just want to say thank you for being so gracious and hospitable in the pub. And for this lovely interview. I'm incredibly honored that you thought about interviewing me. It means so much. It's a great pleasure to meet everyone here and I hope they feel the same. Much love and appreciation to all of you... :))
