Chapter 3 - Opening Tip

After practice, coach Jim invited us to the game against Georgia Tech vs NC State for the opening game. So we went to PNC Arena to watch the game.

As we arrived just in time as the players lined up for the game.

"Hello everyone and welcome to the Opening Night of the ACC Conference!"
As everyone cheers to hear that, everyone was really excited to see the game.
"Tonight we see North Carolina State Wolfpack going up against Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets! A great showdown is gonna go down tonight!"
As Matthew taps my shoulder and asks me.

"What kind of fucking team name is Yellow Jacket?"

As we both chuckle, the press box starts announcing the lineups.

"NC State starting 5 is.. coming all the way from Colts Neck, New Jersey, #31, Pat Andre!"
"We have a forward, really tall not small, #15, Manny Bates!"
"We have a skillful guard, can break any defense in the ACC, #24, Devon Daniels!"
"Next up, we have a threat from the 3 point line, a Stephen Curry if you leave him wide open, #10, Braxton Beverly!"
"And last we have a man that has ridiculous shooting with some great handles, #13, CJ Bryce!"

Damn, this is a game thats gotta be interesting.
And after that, Matthew taps my shoulder again.

"Wanna bet who wins this match?"
"Deal."
With no further hesitation, I was in for the bet.
"20 bucks, North Carolina wins it."
"Make it 50, Georgia will win it."
As I was confident that Georgia will win it.
"We haven't saw the lineups yet, you never know who wins."
As he gave me a smug face and he winked.

WINKED.

Now the press box announces the Starting 5 for Georgia Tech.
"We have for Georgia iss..

we have here a real big blocker,
James Banks III!

next we have a real mid-range god, Michael Devoe!

Now up next we have a lockdown defender, you wouldn't like him guarding you, Khalid Moore!

Next we have someone as quick as Speedy Gonzales, Jose Alvarado!

And last but not the least, we have someone tall and strong, 6'9 to be exact, Moses Wright!"

Damn 6'9, you are gonna be a damn monster on the post.

As everyone started getting ready for the opening tip, Matthew, has his popcorn delivered to him.
As of course I also get some popcorn.
Derryck Thornton, our captain of the basketball team asks our coach.

"Why are we watching the game coach?"
As coach explains it really thoroughly,
"We are analyzing plays from these teams. As this game has powerhouses going up against eachother."

As our captain got the reply, the Pressbox got ready to say those four words that everybody wanted to hear.

"Here comes the Tip!"
