A young maiden from the frozen north watches as the men leave on their hunt from behind the rest of her village, the gold of her eyes and the white of her hair setting her apart from the rest of the Unalaq -West Wind- tribe. Once the men are out of sight the woman go back to sewing their clothes and other gear using the fur they already had. The maidens family finds her weird because of her hair and eye colour that she was born with. Her Atka the Tikaani -wolf- watches over her with a keen eye wishing they were by her side through this. Although the Tikaani knows well that she will get her friend and familiar soon. This young maiden with long, silky white hair that looks silver from the moon and glowing yellowish amber cat-like eyes that help her see better in the dark, walks towards where the dogs are held and hand them the raw meat.

The Alpha male walks toward his human pup and nudges her cheek softly telling her to eat as well through his body language, before going back to the pack and eating first. Maiden denies her Amaguq's -Father Wolf- request and instead lays down on the furs she was given with no fire. The Alpha's look at each other worriedly before walking over to their pup after eating and lie beside her to keep her warm. The pack follows their leader's example and once they're done eating curl around their two-leg pack member to keep her warm through the calm and cold winter night. The pups decides to lay on top of their adopted sister and that brings amusement to the whole pack as they all settle down for the night.

The sun rises early come morning changing the sky into fire-like colours, bringing with it birds chirping and fluttering about the trees making snow from the branches fall as the branches are shaken. Also making the young girl wake with bodies of fur on and around her even though she doesn't mind as it brings her comfort. This young girl, barely nineteen doesn't understand why she is treated so differently, she is told never to speak by her birthing woman and so she doesn't. The language she thinks is her native language, the language she speaks is hers and other's body language, she watches for it carefully as she goes about her day after untangling from her pack to do her chores because the people in her village aren't all that nice to her. "Child, come here." Calls the Ahnah also known as the wise woman to the young girl. Our young maiden walks over to the Ahnah carefully watching her body language for anything meaning harm as she cautiously walks closer to the Elder.

She warily follows the Ahnah into their Higalik -Ice House- that they share with the Putyuk -Medicine Woman- and the Tupilek -Shaman-. As she enters the house she looks around and gets used to her surroundings, before she pays attention to the three Elders in front of her and she watches their language closely so she can see if they plan to do her harm. "Child be calm." The Ahnah says softly to the young girl, "We only bring you a message that a great calamity is going to be striking and we want you, our special maiden to be safe. We know your mother has not given you a name and so we would like to name you if you will let us."

The young girl thinks on it for a bit before nodding her head. Taking a moment longer to think she runs an idea through her head.'Whatever they name me probably won't be as bad as what the woman who birthed me would like to call me.' The elders, having seen the young girls nod, notice how very brave, sweet and kind she has been to the people whom have mistreated her because of her differences. Though they do take the fact she is silent into account when they carefully choose her new name that she will go out into the world with. "We have decided child." Ahnah speaks up after conversing with her sisters on the chosen name, "That you will be called Palartok -Quiet- Ulva -Wolf-."The young maiden thinks on the meanings in her new name and nods accepting it. To thank the Elders, Palartok now smiles genuinely at them before they get down to the real business of why she was called to the Elders Higalik.

The Elders grow worried about what her reaction might be to the news they are to give her about her future, though they understand it's for the best she leaves, they worry she won't get the kindest treatment where she is to go once she heads to the howling Ulva statue. Ahnah sighs knowing she would have to come out with it, so she does, calmly with no aggression laying anywhere in her tone of voice or body language. "Our child," She stops to give a heavy sigh, "You must travel to the Howling Ulva, there you will meet someone who will help transport you to the world you were meant to be in. The gods thought that when you were born into that world it was at the wrong time, so they sent you here." Ahnah continues the explanation, with Tupilek and putyuk butting in where it is needed. Apparently she comes from a world where the monsters of nightmares exist and herbs, grasses and flowers can transform people into mutated beings. Palartok was apparently born as one of those mutated beings, though Witchers, what the beings are called, are supposed to be infertile.
