Amari
Saturday NightJake and I stood in front of the bathroom mirror fixing our hair and outfits.
"We look good." Jake mumbled placing his hand on my lower back.
"Not yet." I laughed waiting for the glue to set so I could lay my lace.
"So... This is really how you do your hair everyday?" Jake asked watching me.
"Not everyday." I mumbled leaning closer to the mirror. "Sometimes I wrap in so I can keep it on for a while. Sometimes I just wear my natural hair."
He watched me intently as if he was hoping to learn how to do this. When I finally laid the lace, I swooped my edges and examined myself in the mirror.
It wasn't the best, but it was what it was. Mar wanted us to wear her designs, so we were. Jake matched me, of course.
He looked a whole lot better than I did. We looked like we were attending two totally different events. Him a wedding, me a club.
"I don't like this..." I mumbled staring at myself.
"Yeah. It doesn't really flow." Jake agreed.
