This place, this world, it looks different from a place I know. I'm getting a little ahead of myself here. Let's start at the beginning.

I was doing work for the Ebonheart Pact when I stumbled upon this portal. It lead to someplace else but where? I looked inside and I was the first to peek my head in. But before I could, some strange force pushed me inside and I turned around to get up and ran for the portal, but it closed up before I could reach it! Damn it!

I'm no mage, but I think magic was at work for this. I got up as I kneeled down wondering why the portal had closed. I had to accept the fact that if I was stuck here, then I'd have to adjust to it. Then I heard sounds from nearby. Horns. Were there horns? I had to go look. I found myself someplace else and I saw these strange things in a line.

"What in Oblivion is this?", I asked myself as I walked out of an alley. I saw many images on these buildings and they moved. Where was I at?

As I walked out and had my axe on my back, I had many nervous people stare at me. Made me feel uncomfortable. As I stood there at a crosswalk of a sort and I looked down to see a child stare at me. I smiled and waved at her and she waved back, but her mother looked up and saw who she was waving at. Me, a half giant half Nord. I was over 6 feet tall.

After the crosswalk light turned to walk, I crossed the street among others and went by the news stand. I checked my pack and it felt heavier than normal. I checked it and seems all the gold I had carried turned to something else. How is this possible?

Man: Hey Big Foot, are you gonna buy or what?

"You're not a very nice person. I'll buy your newspaper. Keep the change.", I said angrily. Then I felt a grumbly feeling in my stomach. I feel like it's been hours since breakfast. But last time I remember it was still dark outside when I traveled here and now it's day time. I smelled aroma in the air and I saw a line to one of the kiosks in the city. They sold food. I looked at the newspaper I received and my eyes grew wide. It said 2020 for the year. What century was I in??

Little Girl: Hi big lady!

I looked down and saw that child again. The mother seemed to be uneasy around me. I can tell she was judging me for my appearance. Figures. I know when I enlisted in the Legion in Cyrodiil, I was harassed by other men there. When it was my turn to walk up and order, they had a variety of things. I had a hard time deciding. Then I picked one chicken wrap or two of them. I paid for it and they asked me what I wanted to drink. They had sodas and I never had one. But picked a random one which was Dr. Pepper.

After getting my order, I went over to a bench and started eating it. Surprisingly it was good. Cooked to perfection. Then, I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around to see the girl again with her mother.

"Have you been following me, small one?", I ask as I set my food on my lap on top of my armored greaves.

"She seems to be interested in you. I'm Lydia and this is my daughter Elise. Is this your first time in New York, miss?", the woman asked me as she sits beside me on the bench.

"You look cool! Are you like an amazon or something?", she asked me. What was an amazon? I didn't know how to answer her question. All I could do was nod. She was innocent and remined me of when I was her age. I'm 31 and still young.

"She wants to know if you would like to come home with us. You look like you have nowhere to go and don't have any clothes to wear. Do you have a name?", Lydia asked me.

"Lyris. Lyris Titanborn. And you're offering me a place to stay? Why ask a stranger like me that?"

"I trust you. You look intimidating, I admit that. But you look like a softy.", Lydia says to me as she touched my hand. "Besides, we do have a spare room and a bed big enough for your size and weight. We barely have guests. Come with us."
