Areum's POV

I kept my head down as I walked into school, Mark had already said his goodbyes in the parking lot and quickly joined Jackson and his other friends. Needless to say, I felt alone. This is the last place I had wanted to be, I would have much rather stayed at home in the comfort of my bed.

I heard whispers behind my back as I made it to my locker to put my things away. Venom spewing from the mouths of snakes, spreading rumors as if it was the plague.

I kept my hood up as I walked into class, my mistake was looking up when I got there. A wave of heartbreak, jealousy, and anger washed over me as soon as my eyes landed on him. But there was something else I felt when my eyes met JB's, sadness. He looked lost, stuck with no way out. Reality came crashing back to me as I saw Nari wrap her arms around JB and plant a kiss right on his lips. Sadness? What a joke! I thought to myself. JB had chosen this, He chose to go back to his old ways and pretend I was never a dent in his life.

I made my way to my desk, put my headphones in, blasted the newest Stray Kids album, and laid my head down. A tap on the shoulder from a classmate, told me the teacher had just walked in. I put my hood down and put my phone away. I was going to focus all of my attention on today's lesson, NOTHING was going to distract me. But that was easier said than done. My eyes drifted over to JB again and again. My mind wandered to memories we had shared and before I knew it, tears were streaming down my face.

Never had I once thought of walking out of the classroom in the middle of a lesson, but I wasn't in the right state of mind at the moment. I grabbed my books and walked out the door, ignoring the sneers from my classmates and the angry tone in my teachers voice telling me to return to my seat. Tears blinded my vision as I walked toward the direction of the school's exit. A hand firmly gripped my wrist, stopping my escape.

"Areum, are you okay?" I was surprised by the voice of the one who asked me. I turned and saw a blurry Jackson holding onto my wrist. I quickly freed myself and wiped the tears from my eyes and face. "I'm fine." I replied in a quiet tone. Jackson looked as if he had seen right through my lies and grabbed my wrist again. "Come with me," he said as he led me toward the direction of the greenhouse, "Mark would kill me if I didn't help you get some rest." He led me into the greenhouse, sat me down on the couch and gave me a blanket. "Rest." he told me as he left. Just a matter of minutes after closing my eyes, I let sleep take me.
