ELLI

My heart felt as though it was beating harder then my feet hitting the grown as I ran.

My heart sounded so loud in my ears that it felt like my head was pulsing with every pump.

Despite my chest screaming with every breath I took I continued on, the cold air burning the back of my throat.

The freezing temperature left my skin numb, my heavily bleeding nose the only sign of damage without the pain.

Every direction looked the same, I couldn't tell where I was going.

My only focus was to flee, hide, and find help.

I thought I'd be okay like every other time.

But I was mistaken.

And now I was struggling to run at full speed my feet sinking into the thick snow.

It was a painful sensation at first but now I couldn't even feel anything.

....

An hour before

It was at least 8pm when my mom had asked me to jog to the food market to pick up supplies.

Reluctantly I set out on a light jog to the market.

At first, I hadn't thought it was that bad the purple and blue sky accompanied by the setting sun lifted my mood.

That was until I ran into Void and his punks.

A.k.A my bullies. I internally groaned.

Their group roughly had eight to ten people although I never kept count.

They were all laughing and stumbling over each other.

Each one of them appearing to have a bottle of beer or vodka griped in their hands.

In an attempt to avoid them, I began to cross the road to the other side.

But was stopped in my tracks when Voids' strong voice rang through the cold air.

Taking my eyes off the ground I looked over at Void and his group.

Void Called me again, this time I sighed in defeat.

Id might as well get whatever they wanted out of the way.

The most they would do is shove me around anyway.

Briskly walking back across the road towards them I stood before Void.

His eyes looking me up and down in judgment.

His eyes widen slightly and he snaps his fingers in realization.

"Ah, that's right. I almost forgot to tell you we have something to show you." He said tauntingly.

"We do?" One said in curiosity and another chuckled.

"It's just beyond those trees." He said gesturing to the forest beside us.

Before long it would be dark and It didn't seem like a very good idea especially since I was supposed to be on an errand.

"I..uh.cant right now," I said nervously.

"But of course you can." He said mockingly as he shoved me forward into the looming forest.

A sense of dread fell over me and I looked back at the road one last time before Void roughly pushed me again.
