Chapter Six.

My unbothered self woke up the next morning without a single care in the world. I had gotten over yesterday's events pretty fast and I wasn't even as bothered by it now. People forget and that's completely normal. Last night, I had even decided to keep my phone on silent for the rest of the night. Just in case. Just as Cher once said a man is a luxury, not a necessity. I allowed myself to stand by this when it comes to any man who will come into my life.

In this case, I allowed it to always remind me that if a boy blows you off, it's not the end of the world. Even if a guy doesn't love you, it's not the end of the world. Life moves on and the pain one guy can cause you, shouldn't stop you from living your beautiful life and being your beautiful self.

Something that took me courage to learn after my last relationship.

Before getting out of bed, I reached over to my nightstand and looked at my phone. The first thing that caught my eye were the notifications that appeared on my phone. Most were just email notifications from clients who were booking their appointments, others were random messages, instagram notifications, etc. I scrolled down to see the notifications I had gotten last night, just soon after I put my phone on silent.

Two Missed Calls from Jeff.
One Voicemail from Jeff.
One Message From Jeff.

All the notifications were from yesterday around midnight, meaning it took him around seven hours to contact me. I decided to listen to the voicemail first; Stel, I'm so so so sorry. I was out doing some stuff with my friends and it got really late. I lost track of time. Please call me back. He sounded very sincere.

The message from him was similar to the voicemail he had left me. I wasn't upset with him, but I wanted to be kind of petty towards him meaning that since he made me wait hours for a message from him, he would have to do the same.

After getting ready for the day and eating breakfast by myself as usual, there was a knock on my door and I walked over to look through the peep hole. I smiled as soon as I saw who was standing on the other side of my door.

"Hey, I have snacks. I know you don't know me well, but you're new in town and I thought you could use some friends so here we are," He grinned widely and held up the bag of food in his hands before turning to look at the beautiful girl behind him, "This is my girlfriend Annelise."

I smiled at the blonde, "Hi, I'm Stella. It's nice to meet you."

"It's really nice to meet you too," She gave me a very pretty smile and pulled me into a hug before I moved aside as the couple entered my barely furnished apartment, "We got you a house warming gift." Annelise held her arms out and in them she had a decorative wooden basket with a few ornaments and other kitchen essentials.
