We opened the doors to the garden and revealed the beautiful glass hall filled with flowers of all kinds and uniquely colored roses. I walked to the small closet space and grabbed a watering can and some special fertilizer to feed the flowers. Julias knew that this area was completely secure from all enterances so he just sat on a bench in the center of the gardens circle. I looked over to him and smiled, continuing to water the flowers.

*time skip*

I walked over to the last section of flowers and noticed something was off. The bushes looked decayed. Almost black in color and they had a small particle effect coming off of them. I set down the watering can and fertilizer and examined the surrounding area. I looked and looked and saw nothing until I saw a strange rose hiding in the mist of all the decaying bushes. I looked up and seen the ceiling of me was shattered, almost as if it fell from the sky. I was confused but oddly compelled by the aura the rose was giving off. It was deep blood red in the center and the petals faded to a black-ish blue on the edges. I knelt down to examine it closer. The thorns on the stem were really long and sharp and the leaves were jagged and a dark green color. I slowly started to reach out to it until i heard someone running towards me.

"Kanii, Don't!!"

I was pulled up to my feet and guarded by Julias. He turned to me with a concerned, yet stern look on his face.

"What were you thinking!?"

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't know, I-"

"How could you be so stupid to reach for a rose that looks like death itself!? Do you realize that you could be in serious danger with one of these if you touched it!?"

"Why are you freaking out, i mean yeah, it's an odd rose but it can't be that bad."

I struggled and grabbed his hands and took them off my shoulders.

"Are you kidding, Kanii!? Look at the damn roses surrounding it for fucks sake!! They're WITHERED! Isn't that a clear sign not to touch it!?"

I looked over his shoulder and the flower and bushes. They did look odd now that he mentioned it. I was only thinking of a more positive take of it being dead and a new rose was only blooming in its place.

"I guess you're right but im gonna take it out of that spot and move since it doesn't belong there."

"At least use a glove, please."

I walked over to the rose and kneeled on the ground.

"I'll be okay, I'll be extra careful."

I reached for the rose and grabbed an empty part of the stem with no thorns. I grabbed the clippers i was carrying and snipped it off the base. I backed up slowly with it in my hand not realizing one of the decayed bushes was brushing up against my arm. I never realized that the thorns of it made multiple deep cuts into my skin.

"There, all done!"

I walked off to a place where we would always throw the unwanted plants, almost like a grinder. I put it in the basket that disposes it and i walked back over to Julias to grab the watering can and fertilizer, ready to put it back in the closet.
