Her gaze fell to the scenery outside, ignoring the loud chattering her family caused as she sat on her brother's lap as the car zoomed to Kings Cross. A red and gold scarf wrapped around her neck, shielding her throat from the harsh air that aimed towards her due to her brother's window being down.
"Oi, Nina you 'cited to go back?" John Shelby, the third oldest, asked, squeezing her side to catch her attention. Turning around Carina took her brother's cigarette before answering, "I am, though O.W.L.S will be a bloody menace."
"That's not important." Arthur, the eldest, grumbled from the front, quickly her aunt Polly and second oldest brother Thomas, glared at him. "Arthur!" Polly hissed, before slapping the back of his head. "That determines her future."
"She'll do great," Arthur shouted, annoyed that his aunt hit him. "She's a bright student, always gettin' high marks. Now I'm talkin' about seein' her play quidditch!"
Carina laughed, she looked around and saw her brother's with wide smiles, even Thomas, along with her aunt and cousin. "That's right!" Finn, the forth oldest shouted happily, ever since Carina returned from Hogwarts explaining to her whole family how beautiful and extraordinarily it is he's been wanting to see it.
Carina had asked her house headmistress and her school's headmaster if her family could watch her play, after bugging for a while and receiving top marks in all her classes they finally agreed.
"I can't wait to show you Hogwarts, you all should be lucky, muggles are never really allowed there. Oh and I can show you my common room and even take you to Hogsmead, we'll even go through the secret passageways." Carina explained happily, her family smiling, happy for her excitement.
"Oh! And you'll be able to see me do magic!" Carina added, sadly her family couldn't actually see her do magic because underaged wizards aren't allowed to do magic outside of their school. What they've read from the letters her professors send and her marks they can tell she's very advanced and intelligent when it comes to magic.
The car came to a stop and the family jumbled out, Carina was quick to grab a cart so her trunk and owl, Ragnar, could be placed on top. Arthur began to push the cart as the family walked towards Platform 9 and 10, as they approached Carina spotted a familiar red head. Shrieking gleefully Carina ran towards the red head and tackled her, causing the red head's family and her sister to look at the ground.
Both girls were giggling as they hugged each other tightly. "Rina! I've missed you!" Lily Evans, explained happy to see her best friend.
"I've missed you too Red." Carina said, she was the only one allowed to call her that. Standing up Carina greeted the Evans family as Lily greeted hers. Petunia, Lily's older sister, glared nastily at Carina but stayed silent, she knew Carina's family was dangerous and very powerful, she didn't want to mess with her even if she was a freak, her fear of the overprotective family won.
"Petunia." Carina greeted, Petunia said nothing but nodded her head as she moved to her mother's side. Carina rolled her eyes as her smile appeared when she saw her best friend, a scowl was then on her face as she witnessed her brother and cousin trying to flirt with her.
Quickly Carina smacked the back of their heads and pulled Lily away before muttering a few cursed words at them and explained how that was absolutely forbidden. Grabbing her cart the two girls ran through the platform, their families behind them. "Finn, Michael, take Carina's and Lily's trunks you the train." Thomas ordered, Carina smirked as both boys grumbled in annoyance but did as they were told.
Carina was quickly brought into a hug by her aunt, as she kissed her forehead. "Be good." Her aunt warned, Carina smiled innocently. "Aren't I always."
She watched as everyone, even Lily's family looked at her. Rolling her eyes, Carina sighed "I'll try my best." Polly was quick to smack the back of her head.
"Aunt Pol!"
Arthur laughed as he hugged his little sister. "You be good, make sure they don't fuck with ya. No one fucks with a Shelby or a Peaky Blinder." During the summer, Carina was finally involved more with the family meetings, which made her beyond happy.
"Will do Arthur." Carina promised as John pushed Arthur away to hug his favourite sibling, it was no secret that both John and Carina were very close, they were practically each other's best friends.
"I'll see you soon Nina." John mumbled as he kissed her forehead. Carina was then brought into another hug by both Finn and Michael, both boys kissed her cheek. "We'll see you soon Nina." Both boys explain in unison, hugging the youngest Shelby tightly.
Lastly Carina hugged Thomas, though he was her brother she always say him more as a father than anything. "Be good, we'll see you soon little rose." Only Thomas has ever called her that, no one else was allowed too. "Bye, love you! See you!"
Carina waved to her family as she and Lily walked towards the train. "Don't forget to owl us!" Carina heard her brothers' and cousin shout. "Lily-"
"I'll remind you, don't worry." Lily promised as both girls looked for an empty compartment. "Will Severus be joining us?" Carina asked, she wasn't particularly found of him, she always found him to be extremely rude, but for Lily's sake she, surprisingly, held her tongue.
"No, he said something about his friends wanted him to hang out with him." Lily explained as both girls found an empty compartment. "He has friends?"
Lily glared at Carina who simply shrugged her shoulders. "Rina, Lils." A familiar voice said happily, looking up both girls shrieked as they got up and hugged the tall boy.
"Nikolay!" Carina shouted happily, hugging her male best friend. "How have you to been? Lovely holiday?" The dangerously handsome 15 year old asked, a charming smile being sent to the girls, who were unaffected by his charms.
"Wonderful, went to France to visit my Grandmother. Though Petunia was being rather rude and very distant." Lily explained sadly, both teens smiled softly at their friend.
"Just mention the Shelbys and you'll scare the wits out of 'er." Carina said, a smirk evident on her face.
"Oh shut it." Lily laughed, shaking her head. "And your's Rina?" Nikolay asked Carina, turning to the short girl, allowing her legs to rest on his. "Wonderful. I'm now an official Peaky Blinder, I've been to so many family meetings-" Carina was cut off by Lily gasping loudly, both friends looked at the red headed girl.
"Oh no! I completely forgot, I have a Prefects meeting! I'll catch up with you two later!" Lily explained quickly before walking out the door, a smirk appearing on their faces. "You're a Prefect! Oh this is wonderful!" Carina said happily.
"Yes, now we won't get detention for sneaking into the kitchens after curfew." Nikolay explained happily, Carina nodding in agreement as they began to speak of other things they'll be able to get away with because of Lily, who always had difficulty saying no to both of them.
