Time POV.. idk, sometime after the 3 season.
Tomura Shigaraki couldn't remember having an amazing past with the people he used to call family, or even the people he used to call friends. Well, actually.. he didn't have the greatest past with anything period.
His mind had gotten so used to blocking out the unwanted bad memories of his said history, that he almost forgot how to remember the good ones. Or even the memories he made that day, but there was always one that he could recall from his tragic past.
The little sayings his older sister, Hana Shimura would spiel to him whenever they witnessed their mother and father fighting after they went to bed. He could never forget his sister's voice. Her sweet melodic voice that sang him to sleep when the shouting became to loud, read him bedtime stories after he had nightmares about being forgotten outside, and the voice that protected him from his father's harsh words about heroes.
It had been some time since Tomura Shigaraki had last dreamt of his sister's pained expression as she turned to dust in his hands. He's brain would always become foggy at the idea of her young image. He could barely remember the dark pigtails that she would always insist on wearing, her sparkling onyx eyes, or even the soothing words she would speak behind her cruel father's back. "I know life isn't awesome and wicked right now, but you gotta take the time to remember importance stuff, like the small interesting details that make you happy, Tenko."
To Shigaraki's memory, there had already been so many horrible thing's that occurred during his entire twenty years of life, that he had almost forgotten to incorporate the wise words of his belated sister into his new villainous lifestyle.
But honestly, could you blame him for not depending on the belief that the little things in his "oh so amazing" life would bring home joy? Especially, when his unexpecting quirk was the whole reason his entire family was turned to dust, right in front of his own eyes. It would only be logical to want to forget the past and continue moving towards his goal of creating a world without All Might in it and to proving exactly how fragile society's sense of safety really has become since the heroes formed UA.
Sure, Shigaraki couldn't remember certain things about his past, but he had trained himself to analyze and recognizing the little enjoyment people suffered from when relishing in their little moments. Well, except for one person.. Dabi, a lower ranking villain recruited into the league of villains by Kagero Okuta. Shigaraki could never make out when Dabi was genuinely happy or if he was being cocky and arrogant.
It was annoying, not being able to decipher Dabi's strange intentions of hiding his past, much like Tomura did. Annoying, but tolerable. It was an entirely different annoyance when Dabi purposely started doing certain things that would undoubtedly pull Shigaraki's eyes away from whatever it was that he was doing at the prior moment.
