Tiffany walked into Monica's house to find her doing laundry. She was supposed to be resting and focusing on feeling better. Not this.
"What are you doing up?" Tiffany asked. "You're not going to get better if you don't rest."
Monica rolled her eyes. "Thank you mom. I am feeling better. A lot better."
Tiffany eyed her skeptically. "Really?"
"Yeah. I guess it was like one of those twenty four hour things?" Monica shrugged. "Your mom brought me soup. I ate that and voila. All better."
"She must have the magic touch." Tiffany leaned on the wall and crossed her arms.
Monica laughed. "Yeah. I guess."
"So now that you're feeling okay now my surprise will be even better." Tiffany said smirking. She told Brooke that Monica wasn't feeling well and that she should stop by to lift her spirits.
"Oh god. Do I even want to ask, Tiff?" Monica said walking out of the laundry room. Tiffany followed her upstairs to her bedroom and shut the door behind them.
"What? Of course you do. I invited Brooke over." Tiffany said proudly.
Monica looked around in confusion. "To your house? For what?"
"You are so smart and so stupid. To your house! Here. Maybe you two could have some alone time." Tiffany wiggled her eyebrow seductively.
Monica didn't like this idea at all. Firstly, Brooke and all of her lesbian glory can not be caught in her parents house. Second of all, no! Why would Tiffany do this? Because she's Tiffany. That's why. "She can't come here. My parents would freak out."
Tiffany had not thought of that. She knew how strict and religious they were. "Oh, right. Definitely my bad. Okay so we'll just move the party to my house. You won't be alone but you guys can still hang out semi privately. I won't be all in your business."
"Is your mom home?" Monica asked before she realized that had nothing to do with this matter. At least not from Tiffany's perspective.
Tiffany frowned. She hated that Monica had to even worry about these sorts of things. "Yeah but you know she's cool about this. She doesn't care that you're letting the rainbow flag wave."
"I'm sure she doesn't." Monica said.
"Seriously, Mo. It's fine." Tiffany tried to reassure her.
"Can I ask her myself?" Monica asked. She wanted to give Gloria a heads up before Brooke just walked into her house.
"Uh I guess. Want me to call her?" Tiffany took out her cell phone.
"Um no. If it's okay with you I would just rather talk to her face to face." Monica said.
"Cool. Get dressed. Let's go." Tiffany says. She's happy her plan is coming together. Before she knew it her best friend would be in a relationship and they could double date and swap sex stories. It was going to be so much fun. Monica got dressed and was ready to walk out of the door when Tiffany stopped her.
"What?" Monica asked.
"Are you really wearing that?" Tiffany asked.
"What's wrong with this?" Monica looked down at her outfit.
"I mean nothing if your potential girlfriend wasn't coming over." Tiffany wrinkled her nose. "Please. Okay? Do something better and..." Tiffany freed Monica's hair from its ponytail. "That's better."
Monica sulked but did as Tiffany asked. After the quick wardrobe change she spun around. "Better??" She asked sarcastically but Tiffany was pleased.
"Much."
When Tiffany and Monica walked into the Cole house, Jackson greeted them with a toy gun, pretending to shoot them down. Tiffany rolled her eyes and pushed him to the side. Monica actually pretended to get shot. Jackson giggled.
"That wasn't for you, Momo." He said as he put a real bandaid over her fake wound. He kissed it. "All better, right?"
Monica smiled. "Yeah. Thanks, Jack."
Jackson smiled and followed Tiffany upstairs to annoy her further.
"Hey, Jack. Where's your mom?" Monica asked.
"Back yard!" He shouted as he disappeared.
Monica made her way through the house and stood at the back sliding door. She watched Gloria through the glass panel. She was tending to her other flower garden. Gloria felt a pair of eyes on her and assumed it was Jackson, who was supposed to be doing his homework. She sighed and got up. She was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't Jackson. She dusted the dirt from her pants and slid off her gloves. The smile on her face was embarrassingly large. She came inside and hugged Monica. It wasn't a very long hug, but they both would take would they could get considering the circumstances.
"I have to tell you something." Monica said quickly while they were alone.
"What?" Gloria could tell she was worried which made her worry.
"Tiffany invited Brooke over."
"Okay." Gloria said. She wasn't excited about that but what was she supposed to do?
"So you don't care? Because we'll probably be right upstairs making out." Monica hated when Gloria did that nonchalant act. Why did she keep doing it?
Gloria narrowed her eyes. "Why would you say that?"
"Because you know how much I hate when you're not honest about your feelings." Monica whispered. "I tell you everything."
Gloria sighed. She had become so used to burying any feeling at all while dealing with Allen, the idea sounded like a foreign concept. "I'm sorry. I'm... glad you're feeling better, Mo." Gloria said as her daughter walked into the kitchen.
Monica was confused until she turned around to see Tiffany. "Thanks. I told Tiffany it was the soup you brought me."
Tiffany was curious about what her mom decided. She knew she would be cool about it. She hoped so anyway. "So...? Is Brooke coming over okay?" She asked.
Gloria looked at Monica then back to Tiffany. "Sure. Just leave the door open I guess."
Monica chuckled.
"Mom. That's so lame. What do you think is going to happen? Mo will get pregnant? Safe sex only, kids." She said mockingly.
"Tiffany." Gloria said sternly. She was being cute and Gloria didn't appreciate it. She also didn't want to imagine Monica and Brooke having sex, especially in her house.
"Kidding! Love you. Come on, Mo." Tiffany said as she walked back towards the staircase before she got herself grounded.
Monica turned to look at Gloria. "Don't worry. Nobody is touching me but you." She whispered.
Gloria bit her lip as she watched Monica walk away. If only she could promise her the same thing.
