I blink rapidly trying to focus on the hand waving in front of my face. I look down as I feel my face heat up. "You've been staring for 20 minutes." Tony taunts looking at me with a knowing smile.

"Shut up." I mumble holding back the smile that's fighting to spread across my face. I look down at my plate pushing the food around hiding my face from Tony.

"Why don't you just tell her you like her?" Tony suggest and I drop my fork snapping my attention back to him.

"NO!" I practically yell as I feel my heart rate pick up at the thought and my stomach doing summer salts.

"OK,OK, calm down...." he laughs raising his hands in mock surrender. "but at least stop staring." He jokes and I laugh punching him in the arm shaking my head. Familiar faces start to fill in the small round lunch table and the conversation drops as Tony starts up a new one with Max.

"Avery, this table is for the untalented people..." My attention is drawn to the sound of of someone saying Avery's name. I glance up at the table across from ours and my eyes land on Avery White. "You are no longer allowed to sit here." Matt's voice was playful and full of humor. Avery slowly looks up with a roll of her eyes but a small smile on her lips. She slowly raises her left hand flips him of causing him to erupt into giggles and a few other people started laughing at the table. Avery goes back to doodling in her notebook, quietly. That's how she always is; quiet and closed up to herself. She dosen't speak much...I've heard her talk for presentations and we talked some when we sat next to each other in Spanish but, that was like one or two sentences a class and some laughing. She's usually alone unless she is with this guy I see her walking with or Mel who is quite annoying and seems to get on her nerves.

"Why are you so intrigued by her anyway?" My attention turns back to Tony and I sigh.

"I truthfully don't know."
