"Well here I am, at Westerfield boarding school, this is gonna be my year." Layla said quietly to herself.
"So, you're the new unfortunate kid who'll end up getting stuck in this dump, oh and also I have some ground rules, 1. you do not come over to my side of the dorm unless there is a fire, an evacuation or we're all leaving to go home and we don't have to stay here anymore, 2. You do not touch me or any of my stuff, unless the things I mentioned before are occurring. Last of all, Don't bug me and don't talk to me, I'm usually really busy with other important things." announced Layla's new room mate.
"Well just to start off, my name is Layla, what's your's." Layla strode over to shake her hand.
"uhm, bro, already breaking rule 1 and 3, and almost 2 by shaking my hand, and just to keep you away for now, my name is Alex Russel, from L.A, I'm at the boarding school here in London for a while. Obvi, ight that's all now go to your side of the room."
Layla saw something in Alex that made her think, y'know, I think we're gonna become friends. Layla had always been a very social girl, rather bright too, she was optimistic and happy almost all the time. Alex seemed brutal but Layla had a good outlook on her and the year ahead of her.
Then Alex began to walk over to her and said, "Look I'm sorry about my introduction and my way that I spoke to you, but I don't trust anyone, anything, I do not trust this place especially and neither should you. When you've been here for as long as I have, You'll begin to realise, there's something wrong with this place, you'll begin to notice things you hadn't noticed before, things will happen that nor you or science can explain. I have seen things, you'll realise the pictures begin to follow your every move, they look at you and stare, and when you move, Their eyes will follow you. I have noticed that less and less people are here a day, it's like they, disappear. Sometimes the staff leave the class and don't come back for a while, one time, miss Backshawl was gone for the whole rest of the lesson she came back last minute and had a wide smile on her face for no reason. You'll realise that there's something fishy, somethings not right here, it sounds stupid I know everyone else I've told has laughed at my face."
Layla began to say "I believe you, I also believe we can be friends an-
"Really YOU BELIEVE ME, thank you for understanding, and yes I'd be friends with you, finally someone to be around that understands me and listens to me!" Cried Alex
Layla spoke with a giggle, "Yes! I knew you'd warm up to me, ehehe, well, what What I was saying before was, how about we solve a mystery together, figure out what's going on, you can teach me everything!"
They both broke out in happy giggles and were on the road to figuring out the truth and what most certainly wen't wrong, all those years ago...
