Raining Love Part Two

Ever since that rainy night, Xiao You's crush for her boss has turned into a full bloom love.
When she awoke the next day she was dismayed to find out that he had already left. Atop the folded blanket was a note: Xiao You, thank you for letting me stay for the night. You saved not just my health but also the meeting later. I'm feeling better after that delicious meal you made. I know you're still worried about me. If there is any indication at all that I'm feeling under the weather today, you'd be the first to know.
Xi Men didn't get sick that day or the next day.
Months passed with no changes or development between them.
Xi Men treated her the same way he always did.
Xiao You clocks out of work promptly at seven like she normally do.
There were times it rained as she left work but this time she found a taxi right away. She was secretly hoping she'd get another rainy night encounter with Xi Men.
Along with the winter season was their year end reports. The Finance Department was swamped with work and were required to render overtime so that they can meet the deadline.
By December 31st, thanks to everyone's hardwork and sacrifices, their department was able to submit all their reports before 5PM that day. Xiao You still had other reports to finish though and stayed late as usual. If her mother hadn't called she wouldn't have clocked out. It was past nine already. Her consolation was that tomorrow which was New Year's Day fell on a Saturday. This means she can enjoy the weekend holiday and get some much needed rest.
On her way down to the lobby, she was able to book an available taxi. The driver called to confirm that he would be arriving in five minutes. But twenty minutes had already passed and still there was no sight of her taxi. Her phone rang and she answered it.
"Oh, Miss Jiang, I am so sorry. There was an emergency on my way to pick you up. My wife had labor pains and they rushed her to the hospital. She just gave birth to our first child." All these was uttered hurriedly.
"That's great. Congratulations!"
"Thank you Miss Jiang. But this means I have to cancel your booking trip. I hope you can book another taxi instead."
"Of course. I can book another."
"Thank you."
After hanging up, Xiao You opened the taxi app on her phone. Someone tapped her shoulder which made her scream loudly and lost hold of her phone.
"I'm so sorry Xiao You." Xi Men spoke as he quickly caught her phone then handed it over to her. "I didn't mean to startle you."
"Xi Men. Thank goodness it's just you." She sighed in relief.
"Who else are you expecting?"
"No one. I thought I was the last one to leave. Your office was closed when I passed by."
He scratched his head and was a little embarrassed when he said, "Would you believe I fell asleep?"
"Oh. Are you sick?" Xiao You asked worriedly.
"No. Just tired."
"I think all of us are."
"Well, tomorrow everyone can rest and enjoy the holiday."
"True."
Xi Men looked around. "No taxi?"
"No." Then she explained what happened.
"Lucky me."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Come, follow me." He motioned as he led them back to the car park.
Xiao You was a little surprised when they passed by the motorcycles. "Xi Men, wait. We've already passed the motorcycle parking area." He grinned and kept walking. Bewildered, Xiao You tailed behind him. He stopped once they reached a black car.
"Surprise!"
"Surprise?"
He nodded. "Remember that rainy night I stayed at your place?"
She nodded.
"Well, the reason I left early the next day is so that I can go to a car dealer and trade my bike with this."
"Eh?! Why would you trade your bike for a car?"
"So I can give you a decent ride."
She was speechless.
"Actually, since that rainy night I've been looking forward to have another opportunity to give you a ride home."
"You do?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Isn't it obvious?" "What's obvious?"
"Jiang Xiao You, I like you."
Her eyes widened in surprise at his love confession.
"You like me?"
"Yes."
"Why?" "You know, you asked a lot of whys." He chuckled.
"Ah, er..."
"To answer your question why I like you, it's because your not just beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well. I didn't realize until that rainy night that I've always admired you."
"Really?"
"Really."
The two of them settled inside the car.
"Xi Men, is this all real?"
"As real as can be." He held her hand on his.
The moment they drove out of the car park rain drops greeted them.
"Well, what do you know? Another rainy night. Aren't you glad I ditched my bike and switched to this?" He smirked.
She smiled at him.
Later that night at the stroke of midnight, Xi Men kissed Xiao You.
"Happy New Year, Xiao You."
"Happy New Year too, Xi Men."
Xi Men put his arm around Xiao You as she snuggled closer to him. They were watching the fireworks display that can be seen from the window on her bedroom. (The rain miraculously stopped ten minutes earlier.)
Thanks to that rainy night (and her canceled taxi booking), Xiao You's dream had come true. What more could she ask for?
