Asher:
One day, I was having a good time with my friends and my music. Then that all changed when I moved to my aunt, her husband, and their daughter. Nevertheless, I convinced my father and my mother that I still have enough money to afford my own place. So a few days before my flight, I called my friend who knows someone who was able to hook me up with a house that was more than what I needed. It was a house with a black iron gate, a garden in the front and back yard, a garage, and a swimming pool. The house was three floors high, with basement, three rooms with balconies and bathrooms, a large kitchen, a den, a large piano, and a living room with a nice fireplace and a chandelier. Call it what you like. I call it “just luck”. After I arrived at the house, I started unpacking then rested after three hours. Since it was only 11:45am, I took a shower then dressed into a white Tshirt, my black jacket, denim jeans and my vans sneakers. Then, I took my guitar with me and strolled around the city.
I spent the rest of the day going places: the mall, a restaurant, auto shop to buy a new car, then the music store to buy new picks and guitar strings, at home depot to buy buckets of paint, then drove home around 7:00pm. I walked to a fast food place and ate at this gazebo at the park, along with my guitar. after eating, I played a song I knew and loved so well. My parents were rich and I grew up an only kid. I was spoiled since I was born. by the age of 15, I realized I needed to get on my feet and work for the things I want. since my parents were rarely home, I started working every after school for 5 hours. When I graduated from high school, I attended graduation without my parents. Sad life, I know. However, I continued to grow up living life on my own. I didn't have to rely on my busy rich parents. I lived a normal life and working to benefit myself.
I sat in the gazebo till 9, playing the 3rd and last song on my list. "your guardian angel" by the red jumpsuit apparatus. It's been a silent night and barely any people hung out at the park at night. when I finished playing, I looked up and saw a girl sitting on a bench, like she had been listening the whole time. She was cute and amusing. Before I could smile, she got up and walked away. I did the same a few minutes later until she disappeared into the streets. I walked home, with her on my mind. the night was cold and silent, and very comforting.
When I arrived home, I heard my cellphone ringing in my pocket. I checked the caller ID. "hello mom," I answered.
"hello, son. how's the flight?"
"it's tiring. but I still manage. how's work?" I asked as I opened the gate.
"it's good, son. Well, I better get back to work. I called to make sure you arrived safely. i'll call from time to time okay? love you, sweetie." She hung up before I can tell her I loved her too. I went inside then locked the front door then stripped down in just my boxers then slipped into bed, thinking about her until I went to sleep.
