I'm really not a fan of starting a story with an authors note, but I feel like I need to. I first of all want to start off by saying that this book is set in America, I'm not going to base it on a city because for that I will have had to have went to America, of which I haven't. I am in fact english and I live in England, this means that I will spell things differently and have different words for things but I'm not going to change that. I hope you enjoy the story.

Chapter one: I need you to get close to him, break down his walls.

Don't panic... Don't panic... Don't panic. The rope around my wrist is making it itch. The cold metal being held against my temple is the only other thing I'm feeling. The rest of my body feels numb, and right now, I'm not sure I am going to escape this dark, drab den that I'm being kept in. The only thing keeping me going is the thoughts of them. I have a story to finish. I have to carry on their tales. I need to complete this legend. For them, I am determined. For them, I will escape or die trying.

Let me explain it to you.

My footsteps were light as I confidently walked down the corridor. I had just finished dying my hair again, purple this time. I gently pushed the door open and walked into his office knowing that he wanted to see me.

"Ahh, Lacey, what a surprise to see you back from your mission so soon."
"Well, you know I don't like to keep you waiting."
Something was wrong about his eyes. They glistened and not with kindness. My next mission wouldn't be good.
"I'm afraid you'll have to with this one. You're going high-school. Here is everything you need. There is someone there I need you to get close to him, break down his walls. His name is Seth. You'll find him easy."
I picked up the paperwork and stormed out of his office. He knows why I dropped out but yet he's making me go back?! Why couldn't Sophie do it, she's already at the highschool for crying out loud!
I shoved the paperwork into my backpack and climbed onto my motorbike before speeding off down the road to my apartment block.
I quickly got everything ready when I got home, I made sure my hair was cut okay and made sure I had enough eyeliner and picked out an outfit for tomorrow. I chose a black t-shirt and black skinny jeans before lying them onto the side. The sun was starting to set, I ate an apple and showered before climbing into bed in a baggy blue t-shirt and superman pj bottoms and letting sleep take over.

Beep...beep...beep...be-
My alarm was cut silent as I pushed it off my nightstand causing the annoying clock to silent it's beeping with a violent crash and let me go back to sleep.
Why did I set an alarm this early anyways?
Just as I was drifting back to sleep my eyes shot open and I jumped out of bed as if I was on fire. Shit, I have school today.
Sighing I walked to the mirror and looked at my reflection in disgust.
I quickly walked into the bathroom and washed my face before putting make up on. I then straightened my hair before slipping on underwear and my jeans and t-shirt. I then pulled my black leather jacket around me and grabbed my bag ready.
I grabbed a small bowl of cereal and poured milk in and then once I had eaten I washed the bowl and spoon and brushed my teeth.
I gave Gilmore, my boxer, a scratch on the head and poured food into her bowl and then left the house ready for today.
Apparently the school is a 5 minute drive and knowing Paul, my stuck up boss, there will be people reporting back to him.
I locked the door and ran down the stairs. School starts at around 8:45. Remembering about my bag I jogged back up the stairs and unlocked the door before grabbing my bag and running back down after again, locking the door.
I slung my bag over my shoulders before swinging my leg over my bike, sliding me helmet on and then riding off on my way to the latest mission.
Don't get me wrong, I can cope well with drug deals, car chases, shootings, all that sort of stuff. But this? I can't cope with. Not school. Especially not this one.
As I pulled up into the school parking lot every head turned. I stopped and pulled of my helmet. Everyone was staring. Watching the new girl. I walked into the office and asked for my schedule before trying to find my homeroom.
"You look a little lost."
I glanced up from my sheet of paper and found myself face to face with a sweet looking girl. Her blue eyes stood out from her pale skin which was lined with freckles and her blonde curly hair fell around her shoulders framing her small face. Her lips were pulled into a smile as she looked t me expecting a response
"I'm Sophie, what's your name?"
"Lacey."
She grabbed my timetable out of my hand and skimmed over the lessons. A smile crossed her lips as she muttered to herself.
"We have the same homeroom and English lit class."
I smiled sweetly at her.
"I'll show you the way, that's if you don't mind being friends with me..."
I looked at her confused but she didn't look.
"Most people hate me and they honestly don't care about me but its up to you if you want to be seen with me."
"Just shh and show me the way would you?" A hint of humour laced my voice and she smiled back at me as I laughed slightly.
"Are you sure?!" Her eyes lit up as she looked at me and pulled me the opposite way. Oops, it's a good job she found me.

----------------------------------
It was lunch, I walked towards my locker and unlocked it using the code I was given before putting all my books in there. The amount of homework I have is ridiculous! Just as I was closing my locker I felt someone push my forwards causing me to bang my head on the locker door. I felt something wet slip down my forehead as I looked up and my gaze was met by a pair of blue angelic eyes.
"Are you okay sweetheart?"
