"And there we have it folks, our updates of the demigod times newest alerts." I, Quinn Green, daughter of Hermes say with the biggest smile I can manage.
As soon as the show ends, the seventeen year old director, Adam Struling, the son of Apollo lifts his chin up high and walks up to me.
" That was a great show Quinn," Adam says with a smile.
Adam has always been such a sweetheart but even though we are the same age, it doesn't mean I ever had romantic feelings for him. Since we met in grade two, I've always just thought of him as a friend. But I have to admit that he is kind of cute; his floppy auburn hair always in an attractive kind of mess, his blue eyes always seem so warm and cuddly, and his tan muscular, but skinny biceps.
" Thanks Adam," I say " I just wish that Lily wouldn't be so mean about everything."
" Give her a chance." Adam says gently, trying to give his next door neighbour a break.
Lily is the daughter of Aphrodite a.k.a the most obnoxious reporter in the world. She always has her flaming red hair in curls and never has
had one curl damaged. The only time I witnessed such a "crime" was in grade five, when Albert Bruce, son of Hephaestus accidentally spilt a bucket of fish guts on her. The fish guts were obviously not aimed for her judging by the look on Alberts face, but for one of his goofy friends.
" Well,well, what do you know," A horribly familiar voice says from behind me. " I just don't understand how losers get to be casted on television." Lily says, giving me an evil sneer as she says it.
Unfortunately, for me, it takes me an awful amount of time to make up a comeback.
"....................uhh...well...erm..." The words spill out of my mouth like a waterfall.
" Got nothing in your brain to come up with a comeback, huh noob?" Lily says with all her little "friends" snickering behind her.
" Leave her alone, Lily." Adam says, finally stepping in to save me.
" Adam!" Lily changes her tone of voice almost immediately to a sweet suck up tone.
I roll my eyes, Lily and Adam have known each other since they were toddlers. Their parents are both HUGE stars in the demigod world; Lily's mom is a famous fashion critic, and her dad is the principal of Golden Ichor High. a.k.a the most popular and largest school for demigods.
Adam's parents are both show host for the famous cooking show called "Almost As Good As Nectar!"
" Lily, what are you doing here, I thought you were suppose to be in studio A?" Adam says with a little bit of irritation hinting in his voice.
" Well, Adam, honey, I just wanted to visit you and see how you were doing." Lily says twirling her hair and batting her lashes.
" Don't call me honey," Adam says almost right away. He then says gently "I'm not someone who likes that very much, Lily."
Lily releases a loud heavy sigh.
"Fine." She says and exaggerates the "n" sound.
"Thank you," Adam says, checking his watch at the same time. " Oh no, I'm going to be late for my next movie casting. Sorry girls, but I gotta run."
And with that he's already walking off with a quick pace.
"Ugh, now I have no reason to stay here, " Lily says glaring at me, then looking at her minions. "Come on girls, I want to make a fashionable entrance to my next photo shoot." ( Yes, I know, Lily can manage to do reporting and modelling)
Then, in a swift motion, Lily sashays out with all her little minions filing out behind her.
All except one. The minion's hunched over on a depressed looking gray chair sobbing uncontrollably into her $250 dollar fuzzy aqua blue sweater. And sadly for me, I have a tiny voice always telling me to try and "take care" of those who are "misguided". I'm guessing that includes rich crying girls like the minion.
With that, I bundle up all the courage I have and start taking my first few steps towards the crying poor girl. Come on Quinn. I think to myself. Think. How the heck are you going to help the "rich girl," cries my inner "normal girl" side. But my, I am five feet, four feet, three feet away from her and it's become clear to her now that someone is approaching her. It's too late to turn back now
