I sat on the edge of my bed, elbows resting on my knees and fingers loosely locked. I turned my head limply to the side to see it ─ the picture we took on a beautiful summer day last year, when our faces were still bright with smiles...
What if yesterday you had not called me up at night? Would you still have told me to meet me you at the park using another method of communication? If so, what if I had arrived late and you left before telling me whatever it was you had to say? Would you still have told me another time? What if after you had told me, I grabbed your arm to wipe your tears away and say 'Dont go', saving you from that car which was speeding past?
Would you be here beside me, now? Would you have died from that terrible illness anyway? I'd still have wanted that extra time, the extra day or two, or maybe even a measly minute.
Because in that minute, I could have told you before you left, that I loved you, and always will.
====**==Story Explanation==**====
Did you get it? It probably isnt very clear. LOL. One night, a girl calls up her best friend (male) to meet at a park. There, shes confesses about her sickness ─ cancer, pneumonia, whatever you imagine it to be ─ to him. She then says sorry to her friend about lying and deceiving him about 'being alright' for all those years, then turns to run back home with her head ducked to hide her tears from him. A speeding car knocked her into a tree by the side of the road. Since some people might think that that is not enough to kill someone, id like to add that the impact from the car broke her ribcage and being thrown into the tree messed it up (as in, her ribcage started poking her intestines and probably poked a hole through it) her skin also got scraped against the rough bark. (Ouch, I know right?) The girl liked the guy but couldnt bring herself to say it since she'd be dying early anyway. And the guy also liked her but was too late. The day after, he sits crying on his bed, reminiscing about her. THATS THE IMPORTANCE OF COMFESSING YOUR LOVE. Not saying that I've actually done it before /killed
So, I hope you enjoyed this short story and i'm sorry for rge slightly gruesome description of her death '•w•'||
