Chap. 1 《Machine》

[Y/N] liked being invisible. That meant no bullying, no drama, no trouble, all loneliness. That was the downside. Endless loneliness until she got home where her mom and her mom's current boyfriend would be waiting for her along with her cat, Buffy. But she was currently in her mom's car waiting for the two of them to be done talking to thier Sex and Relationship therapist, Jean Milburn. And what better way to pass the time than by playing games on her phone and scrolling through her social media while blasting her White Noise Playlist (songs she's listened to so much before that she's grown numb to their sound) through the car radio. But unknownst  to the [H/C] haired female not that far away was Otis Milburn and Eric Effiong riding their bikes to the house.

They heard a loud noise like a bass beat coming from nearby. Otis walked next to a car to see a girl with [H/C] hair inside playing on her phone. Otis knocked on the window a few times before the girl jumped from her seat. The two boys could already feel the music quieting down. The girl rolled down her window.

"Yes?" She asked tilting her head and quirking a brow at her.

"Your music is a little loud." Erick told her.

"Oh, sorry. I'll turn it down." She said moving to turn the volume knob down.

"What are you doing here?" asked Otis.

"My mom and her boyfriend are getting sex therapy." she said nonchalantly.

"Do you want to come in? Play some video games?" asked the black haired son of the sex therapist the girl's mother was seeing.

"Video games?" she asked.

[Y/N] had never been invited to do anything with anyone before. Much less play video games. She looked past Otis to see Erick giving her two thumbs up and nodding vigorously.

"Yeah, you in?"

"Before I say yes, what video game?" She asked still with a raised eyebrow.

"Mario Kart™️." Erick told her.

"Or Super Smash Bros™️." Otis added.

"I'm in. I can beat the both of you at both with the same character." [Y/N] said turning her playlist off and hopping out of the car.

"I'm Erick by the way. He's Otis." Erick introduced the pair of them.

"[Y/N]." She told them.

"Are you new? I haven't seen you around." Erick said.

"Nah. I've been in the same grade as the both of you since kindergarten." She told them as the three of them entered the house.

"Really? Why haven't we've seen you around?" Erick asked.

"I'm practically invisible. And alone. But it's okay. I like being alone and lonely." she explained.

"That's sad. Isn't that sad, Otis?" Erick asked.

"Hm... y-y-yeah, yes." Otis said stumbling over his words. "So, which character do you want to be?"

[Y/N] hadn't been paying attention as she talked with Erick to realize they had gotten to Otis's bedroom and he had set up Super Smash Bros. for them. [Y/N] took a controller and chose Greninja. A red Greninja. While waiting for Erick to pick a character (Otis had already picked), she texted her mom letting her know where she was. Erick had picked Zelda while Otis had picked Cloud.

"You boys ready to get K.Oed?" [Y/N] asked turning to the boys beside her.

"You're on." And Otis pressed the button to start the game.

And their new friendship.
