Kihyun frantically called the cops and they were no help. He was told that they couldn't file a missing persons report until she had been missing for more than twenty four hours.

"What is this American bullshit?!" Kihyun growled as he hung up and tossed his phone onto the dining room table, scaring the white and orange cat that was curled up underneath it. You ran over to him and grabbed his bicep.

"Ki, any police department is going to have those rules. Is it morally right, no. But they have to make sure that she didn't just run off."

"We have evidence that she didn't! She never goes anywhere without her phone and I'm holding it in my hand! Not to mention, it's cracked to all hell! You know how careful she is with her things, (y/n). She would never allow for this to happen!" Kihyun whimpered as fear started to completely take over his body. He staggered backwards until his knees hit the couch and he fell backwards on to the soft leather. He buried his head in his hands as his body shook with sobs.

"I can't lose her again. I just can't. I promised her when she was three years old that I would never let this happen to her ever again. I told her that Appa would always be there for her. I told her that nothing bad would happen as long as I was there. Look what happened! I wasn't there and she's gone again! I can't do the one thing that I promised her 16 years ago! I'm a horrible father..." He sobbed as he tore at his hair. You sat next to him and wrapped your arms around his neck to pull him into you, rocking him gently.

"You are not a horrible father. You saved her last time. You saved me. You've kept her safe for 16 years. You kept your promise for 16 years. Yes, flukes happen but she's been safe for 16 years, Kihyun. That's an accomplishment. Yes, this is bad timing but we will get her back just like last time. I promise. Now, the cops know and they'll submit the report first thing in the morning. Let's call the guys over to start up a search party. They helped us last time and they can help us again." You said softly, making your husband sniff, wipe his face and nod in agreement. He stroked the cat as he walked passed before grabbing his phone off the table and calling Minhyuk.
