Dream - Wang Yibo x Xiao Zhan one-shot fanfic

Dream

The moment Xiao Zhan turned six, he was left by his parents to a relative who's living alone, and went to abroad to work. Xiao Zhan had been obedient when he was young. However, when he heard a baby's cry next door, he snuck in and found a chubby and cute child. It was Wang Yibo. The baby was crying. He thought he was hungry. He was about to feed him when Wang Yibo's mother returned. Then, he started to hang out in that house since his uncle who he was left with has a job. Got nothing to do, he went to watch the baby grow up every day.

"You're so cute!" Xiao Zhan said as he pinched the one-year old baby's cheeks. "Here! I'll give this to you! I'm sorry for the late birthday present!" he said as he gave Wang Yibo a cute yellow duck stuffed toy with pink bulging cheeks. It was personally hand-made by him, so it took him time to create it.

"Aww. Thank you, Zhanzhan." Wang Yibo's mother said and smiled when she saw her son hugged the toy identical to her son. She laughed, amused by the sight.

Xiao Zhan brightly smiled, he seemed to be glowing.

Years later -

"Zhan ge." Wang Yibo called Xiao Zhan when he saw Xiao Zhan waiting by their school gate.

The female students squealed as they watched Xiao Zhan silently sat on the concrete box. He looked like a model. That tall and slender build, and that angelic face... only a halo and wings are missing and Xiao Zhan would look like he'll fly to the sky.

Wang Yibo had the same thought, but he felt panic in his heart instead. Zhan ge... he can't leave me - he thought as he walked faster, half-running towards Xiao Zhan who turned and smiled at him. "Did you wait long? I'm sorry - " Wang Yibo said, his face apologetic.

Xiao Zhan shook his head. "No." he said, then paused as he looked at Wang Yibo's face. "I'm always puzzled why would you advance grades. Are you rushing or something?" he asked and laughed. Xiao Zhan is already in his last year in high school while Wang Yibo is in his first year. Wang Yibo skipped two grades whereas Xiao Zhan was behind, added to the fact that he transferred schools when he was six.

Wang Yibo stared at Xiao Zhan. "It's not enough..." he muttered.

"Hm?" Xiao Zhan said. "Did you say something?" he asked. Wang Yibo shook his head. Xiao Zhan just shrugged and turned to the female students screaming their name. "What are they shouting for?" he asked.

Wang Yibo stared at Xiao Zhan. Xiao Zhan has always been oblivious to everything. Maybe it was because he was withdrawn to everything when his parents left him to work abroad, and that his small world is already big for him. Wang Yibo is thankful for this, though, since Xiao Zhan will only be his. "Don't mind them, ge." He told Xiao Zhan as he pulled him away. "They just don't have anything to do." He said and they left.

"AAAAHH! Yibo is so cool! Xiao Zhan is too soft!"

"The Valentine's Day is coming. Who do you think they would date?"

"Yibo surely must have someone. But, Xiao Zhan - "

"Yes. Senior Xiao... he's an airhead. Surely, if he would date someone, that someone must've duped him!"

Valentine's Day.

"Zhan ge. How about you wear this? This would look good on you." Wang Yibo told Xiao Zhan and gave him a shirt.

"Wow. This looks good on you, so it really looks good!" Xiao Zhan said as he looked at the shirt Wang Yibo is wearing. "By the way, where are we going today?" he asked. He was lazing around his house and drawing something when Wang Yibo showed up.

"Where would you like to go?" Wang Yibo asked.

Xiao Zhan's eyes lit up. "Spongebob!" he answered.
