CHAPTER 6 : "Elena's Pain"

After her number "Toxic," Elena ran towards her dressing room - Lucy was there with Dina.

"You did great girl! why don't you go to Japan where you can earn more money? "Lucy said to her while helping her out with her dress.

She took the robe from Dina as she sat on her chair facing her dresser.

She took off the wig and the mask. She stood up and took the cotton balls and make up remover from her locker.

"Nah, that's too far from here and even if there's more money to be earned there, at least here I can be with my family and take care of them," she said and added,

"Also the steps were so tiring Lucy, the neckline of the outfit you chose was too low so I was a bit awkward moving. I didn't even bring tights with me," she said to Lucy while gently taking her make up with the cotton ball.

"Lena, it fits you great believe me! You saw how the guys cheered for your dance a while ago? Winner! It was awesome!" Lucy with his one hand on his hips while his other gesturing up and down.

"Hmmmp I don't know with you, but next time please show me the outfits first before my set so I can choose myself and back out if I don't like it so I have chance to change outfits, I want to be comfortable when I dance," she said.

"There you go, I gotta go quickly ok? Next time I will go with you all the next time you go on a gimmick," Elena said.

"Promise - promise...you always say that but never did,"Dina teased.

"No, I still have to return these shoes to Katya I promised to return it after tonight, tomorrow I gotta go shopping, don't I have any envelopes tonight?" She asked.

"Nothing girl, your avid fans seem to be absent tonight,"Dina said.

After Elena puts her clothes back , she pulls her hair back and took her bag.

"It's okay there's always a next time, so...I have to go I am not feeling too food myself,too. See you guys tomorrow," she gave Dina and Lucy quick kiss on the cheeks before she went out of the club.

She dropped by at the nearby karenderia and bought lugaw (Filipino rice soup dish) and barbecue.

She was hungry and her Mother loves lugaw. She bought two servings of lugaw and ten barbecue.

She took a taxi back to their house.

When she got home, only a lamp in the living room was lit up. Her mother usually sits by the window waiting for her but this time she probably got tired and slept inside her room.

It was already one in the morning.

She puts away the lugaw and barbecue inside the fridge and decided to have it for breakfast tomorrow instead.

She went and check on her mother and made sure she has her blanket on- it is getting a little cold on early mornings like this. She went and checked on her brothers who are both sleeping,too before going to her and Joanna's room.

She changed into her pajamas and went in the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face.

She crept beside Joanna making sure she doesn't wake her up- or she will get so cranky when awakened.

She faced the side facing the door and tried to sleep but cannot. She started coughing a little bit, but trying to stop it not wanting to wake up her family who are all asleep.
