Jessica dropped the gun and stood for a moment, looking at the dead gangster. Then, her tears spilled over, and she started sobbing. Jack, still wincing, made his way down the stairs and to Jessica. He put his good arm around her, and, as she sank to the floor, he knelt down with her.
"I can't believe - how could I - why did I - ?!" she started a new wave of sobs.
"Shhh. It's ok, it's ok, it's over for good." Jack whispered to her. He moved in front of her and kissed her, so that she wouldn't see Bobby take the bodies outside. Jack broke off the kiss.
"You'll live with us now. It'll be okay now. Everything's over." he said to her, brushing back a piece of her auburn hair. She nodded.
"I guess so. Everything's okay."
