"YUE! Look, Look!" Hakuren cooed as he bounced the baby in his arms, laughing at the dazed look that he was being given. The two walked around the palace halls finding peace within each others company. Well, more like Hakuren's trouble making.

The entire morning he had been showing Yue all of her most favourite things. Before a cough had interrupted Hakuren from climbing a tree to give her a better view of the palace from above.

"Well shit."

"Language. Hakuren, who knows when Yue will pick up on your talk." Hakuyuu scolded his brother who had froze in the process of grabbing a branch, his chilling gaze softening when Yue fluttered her long lashes at him then reaching her chubby arms out towards him.

The blue haired siblings had been tasked of taking care of her as a way of bonding, since their recent welcoming into the family their mother had wedded into. They had all been reluctant at first, since their relatives had been protective of their baby sister, especially Koen and Kouha.

"Hakuwu! Hakuwu! Up, up!" Yue cheered, presumably showing how high she was. With a sigh, Hakuyuu quickly walked over to the two and scooped her up from his dejected brothers grasp and giving her an eskimo kiss. "How about we look for Hakuryuu? He should be bringing some flowers back from the garden."

Sparkles emitted from her at the mention of Hakuryuu. She had always been fond of the boy the moment she first laid eyes on him. He would always gift her with all sorts of flowers and can understand most of her adorably mispronounced words. But yet, she is barely given permission to see the boy, up until now that is! "H-Hakuryuu! Hakuryuu!"

Lightning struck Hakuyuu as his expression showed one of disbelief and Hakuren beamed. The first word that Yue had ever pronounced correctly wasn't one related to a parent, but Hakuryuu?! Not that he would ever admit it, but Hakuyuu wanted that honour!

"A-Ahem, yes, Yue... let's go... " A patch of clouds seemed to hover above Hakuyuu's head as Hakuren gave a snort.

———

Hakuryuu was crouched beside a beautiful flower bed, filled with a variety of flowers from roses to daisies. He had been picking some of the most promising for Yue.

It was strange how the child could understand so much about living things. Once, he had found her crawling towards a limping cat and bursting into tears, saying how it had lost its friend and had gone on a journey to find him again, only to injure himself in the process. He didn't have the heart to question whether her words were genuine or from her own imagination, but was quickly proven wrong when another feline had appeared and race to his friends aid, all the while purring at Yue's presence.

He knew that there was something special about her the moment they first met. Whenever he was in her vicinity, he had the odd urge to stay around her, with the warm atmosphere that she carried. Like he was being showered in sunshine. So lost in his thoughts, a thorn managed to embed itself into his finger. Hakuryuu grimaced at his wound and plucked out the fiend.

"HAKURYUUUUU!"

"E-Eh? Yue?!"

He jumped at the high pitched squeal and saw a blur of light pink before he was captured into a bear hug. It took him a few moments to process the situation, but one look at his elder brothers expression and he gasped in amazement. "Yue! Y-You said my name!"

She tilted her cheek that rested on his chest with a grin, she had no idea what he was talking about. Instead, she set her eyes onto the cut his finger, blood slowly traveling down his skin like molten lava. Hakuryuu lifted her up into his arms and beamed in pride. "I'm so proud of you!"
